Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with a Watermelon

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and reaching the summit is a bucket list item for most travellers.
It's the world’s tallest free standing mountain. Rising 5895m or 19,340ft over Africa, it's the highest point in the continent.
In this video we hike the Lemosho Route, and transition into the Western Breach. This trek is the speciality of Kiliwarrior Expeditions, the operator who hosted us on the adventure.

Some 60 years ago (yes, 60!), in Southern Europe, a couple of us, teenagers, took aim at a nearby peak; a pretty straight 1 - 1.1 km vertical shot. A good two-way trek in a single day. Yes - but we took with us a watermelon, and a pretty big one as I remember. It turned out to be more challenging that we had predicted but - we made it. And, at 1623 m, it was a sweet reward for our extra efforts (notwithstanding our silliness) on a crisp summer day. So watermelon got consumed; my buddies - gone, some, a long time ago. I keep pushing. Great job, Mike; this video really touched a soft spot on my heart.
