I know next to nothing about music so I don't know what to call it, but when you hit the high notes at the beginning of the chorus' (1:19 for ex) it sounds beyond ethereal. It really brings the feeling of realizing you were fooled, and implies that you're going to break free. And the emotion you put into the song overall is perfectly expressive, and shows that you definitely understand the feelings portrayed. I genuinely have never heard anything as beautiful as this cover; like it's on its own level by far.

Some things to point out: 0:53 “I lost the means to breathe, but weren’t you proud of me…?” This actually relates so well to Mafuyu, because she had been trying to make her mother happy all this time, but it was wounding her. 1:31 “I just wanted to find who I really am inside” This is a reference to Mafuyu being lost in her identity, as she doesn’t know her true self 4:09 “So I ran away, and I found myself the tiniest light” A reference to Mafuyu running away and finding Kanade, giving herself a boost of hope

Everything about this.... you've conveyed everything about Mafuyu's struggles perfectly. Her living a live that's not her own, her realization, her wanting to end the falsehood, the pain she went through without others knowing, questioning who she is without the falsehood she lived through to finally speaking up about it. Yeah, this whole song is written for Mafuyu about her struggles, it's pretty clear from all the lyrics. I believe it said "You are wrong, Mother!" at around 1:21 in the original lyrics, which show Mafuyu standing up for herself and telling her mother what she wanted to do, before she ran away from home.

i never really listen to english covers. but this…. this brought me to tears. the original song did as well, and understanding the lyrics as well as you so perfectly portraying mafuyu’s pain is just painfully beautiful. it felt like i listened to 演劇 for the first time again
