Hi thanks for this interesting question.... 1. Camshaft bearing support camshaft and provide its rotation. Normally camshaft bearings are one piece in design and made of babbitt, a lead-based material that is quite soft and work as a solid lubricator. 2. A Crankshaft or main bearing consists of two parts: upper and lower. Its made up of lead-tin and aluminum alloys, with steel back. Again lead acts as a solid lubricator.
