For those talking about reprogramming, I'll share what I know. For cars built after about 2000 you likely won't be able to simply get an ECU from another car of same make, model and serial number, and put it in your car. Reason being is ECUs in newer cars are coded for that specific car, so you'll have to have the ECU reprogrammed to your car and this has to be done by a dealer or ECU repairer. The reprogramming is mostly or only because the immobiliser coding is specific to that specific car. If you can find a 2nd hand ECU, and ETACS module and Key Reader and Key all from the exact same car, then you should be able to put all those parts in your car and not need any reprogramming. If you're sourcing a brand new ECU then again that will have to be programmed for your vehicle.

It has to be programmed by a dealer or a mechanic that has a programmer. To avoid this you should've bought an ECU that comes pre programmed.

Where all do these cables from the ecu connect? I just had my car towed back home. No start. No clicking. Battery tested good. All lights throughout. Dark outside right now and no garage. My jack is shit. I see some big clip hanging by the exhaust at the back of the motor. What's that go to?

@@taipan8021 there's a device from the dealership attached to the starter. Starter/gps disable relay. Can unmounted somehow, and the white wire got fried by my exhaust. I just spliced in a new wire. All is good now.

Sometimes they just go bad and if the modules cant communicate with with each other and read whats happening in real time from the computer then they dont work and you can loose power steering or ABS a whole lot can happen
