Hi sir I have a jeep mdi500 2003 model and iam not getting mileage its very less (8 or 9 km per ltr) what will be the problem? Overall engine oil is in stable level for every time and no black or white smogs ffrom silencer still mileage is very low

Thare can be many reasons 1. If the fuel injectors are not good enough, it could happen. Fuel injectors might have chocked and fine atomization of fuel not taking place. Atomized fuel helps in good burning and producing more power 2. If the piston rings are worn out or cylinder liner bore dia got increased due to wear can also reduce the power, but that case engine oil will get dirty very fast. 3. Also check for tappet clearence, if that changes then valve timing would change which wil also waste the power that produced in the engine and thereby reduce the mileage and power 4. If fuel pump is also actuated by cam, then check the timing of that also 5.if the fuel pump is external pump, then check for its pressure, whether it develops enough pressure

Which timing you mean. exhaust and inlet valve timing is based on cam . Fuel injection is also based on cam in older engines and based on timing in ICU in new engines.
