Not sure you are aware, but the '95-97 Mastercraft Prostar 190's are one of the most sought after older pro ski boats... So many things about this design...

That's awesome! We really enjoyed this project. We actually just found an issue with our engine, It was idling too high and turns out we had a vacuum leak! Does yours have a 351 Windsor engine?

You gotta swap out that mirror, with its location/design, worst idea by the factory ever!!! Also, add a 8"-10" grab rail for the rear seating passenger....You should easily be able to find a short grab rail that matches the side rails. Another major issue with this boat, the rear seating passenger had now where to grab.

We got ours to about 38mph! It's a super fun boat. Great for skiing, other water sports, and having a good time on the lake!

So...........considering you had to put a new block did you come out ok? Why didn't the freeze plugs work ???

We bought the boat knowing it most likely needed a new engine, so we factored that into the purchase price. All in we paid about 70% market value.

Not sure about the freeze plugs. The boat wasn't winterized properly by the previous owner, causing the block to crack. My thought is that the water near the freeze plugs was drained, but there was more water stuck in the engine causing the cracks in the valley.

Did you have the exhaust manifolds and risers dipped and cleaned?

No, we just took them off and put them on the new engine with new gaskets on the manifold and the riser.

@@fuel_up I guess that is okay if running in fresh water. Locally we have brackish water so we dip them for cleaning then repaint them.
