very jealous, would really like to fly over Doncaster Sheffield airport. I had the privilege of flying low over it in a Cessna when it was being built, and was learning to fly just a couple miles north at Sandtoft

Worth a trip down there one day for sure, before it reopens.

very nice so you really got the new engine! any change to put a bigger prop on? or at least get rid of the wooden thing? try to fit the biggest possible prop for this frame. tell us about it.

Probably won't change the prop length any time soon but I have just got a carbon 125cm for the Atom.

Great event, wonderful flights. Glad you sorted out the fuel mixture to stop the engine outs. Was the low flying at the end reckless? Smacks of showing off and risking trouble to my mind. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Barry, it's a reminder that whenever changing location I should check my engine first to see if it needs a tune before a flight.

Luvly Jubbly 😎 .. I'm always surprised by how much local information you manage to tell in these flights ... you must spend hours researching it 👍

I thought the Atom was for long range cruising, do you take the Moster with you as well?
@markallisonparamotor

Yes they both fit in my van perfectly, so bring them both everywhere now. 👍

That's annoying. What did you do to fix the engine in the end? Just richen low screw?
@markallisonparamotor
@markallisonparamotor Жыл бұрын
Yes just richened the low end. I have had to lean it back out since. 🙄

@@markallisonparamotor Did you notice much difference in the fuel usage?
@markallisonparamotor
@markallisonparamotor Жыл бұрын
@@turkeyphant Yes it increased a lot, I've leaned it back now. Strange conditions for motors that weekend. Many people had to do the same I heard.

No the engine was too lean as mentioned in the video.
@DanielJonesParamotor
@DanielJonesParamotor Жыл бұрын
Definitely a lean issue, could tell from your idle and consistently spinning prop once warm. Have you checked your head nuts? The Atom will loosen off a bit if it’s a brand new engine. I’ve found, if I’ve had the head off, retorquing after about 5-10 hours they usually stay in place after that. Always good to check periodically though.
@markallisonparamotor

Great thanks Dan, yes I will retorque all the bolts during this period of bad weather, so it's ready to go when high pressure returns.

@@markallisonparamotor it’s only my list to do as well. Also worth noting, do not over tighten the plastic fairing screws because they will end up spinning the moulded in nuts on the other half. You may find with many hours they’ll work loose anyway.
