Getting ready to stretch the front end, and do the 5.0l engine swap! Using my old JCB backhoe as an engine crane! The next process will be to get the front end frame work done, then the engine can come directly from a friend of my who built it and drop right in!

I did an engine swap in my Dad's 1978 Chevy P.U. with his 8-N tractor out on the lawn. Talk about herky-jerky! But it takes what it takes to get it done.

It’s very heavy! Lots of accessories on it as well. I’m thinking swapping to a 5.0l Ford should shave a lot of weight!

I worked on a car like that once, had to replace a rear inboard brake caliper and solder closed some pinholes in both gas tanks I remember the caliper was $300 witch seemed astronomical at the time

Instead of cutting and stretching, wouldnt it be easier to add on to the front and move the front axle forward ? Perhaps cut the front off another jag in a breakers yard. I know the wings and bonnet will still need to be extended.

man if you think thats complex you should give up cars cause thats mechanical fuel injection mechanical bucket tappets and simple chain drive to the cams nothing flash or complex there buddy yes sure they are in there tight but that was the car
@myclassicfords3658
@myclassicfords3658 Жыл бұрын
It’s actually an electronic fuel injection system. What I mean by complex, is for how simple an 80s 5.0 efi is this thing is terrible. That being said I’m sure the technology in 76 that was available, they likely did the best they could.
