The two most common reasons I have found in my experience you left out. Number 1 I have seen most of is stuck open purge control valve. And also worn out spark plugs not burning all the fuel. I have also seen cars with both a map sensor and a mass airflow, I’m pretty sure. I can’t remember what car that was on.

What about a false reading of an oxygen sensor caused by a bad signal wire? Is this a possibility? I replaced catalytic converter and oxygen sensor but carbon monoxide is still about 5 percent. I replaced further throttle body, temperature sensor and map sensor (engine does not have a maf-sensor). Sparks are always black, although I even removed air filter.

Very helpful thank you, I've had this problem with a Seat Ibiza, I ended up replacing the fuel filter and fuel pump because of idle issues, but I believe it's the oxygen sensor (lambda sensor) that is causing the the running rich issue. Those oxygen sensors aren't cheap!

been having rough starts on my Dacia Sandero and incorrect coolant temp reading ... i've read almost everywhere that it is a bad thermostat but decided to change coolant temp sensor anyway ... spent 3€ on the new sensor and now the car starts like new

Hi, I enjoy your videos they are very good. I have a 2019 Ford Transit 350 2 litre diesel UK model (I live in the UK) I have a single radiator fan with 2 speeds; High Speed and Low Speed. When I turn my AC on, my Van no longer uses the Low Speed fan, it ONLY uses the high speed fan in 30 second cycles, and then turn off, and then again repeats the cycles. My van never use to use the High speed Fan when using the AC; it would only use low speed van. My van is not overheating at all, nor does the AC NOT work; it blows freezing cold air, as it always did, and there is no engine performance issue. I have gone to 3 different mechanics and they have all used their fancy scan tools, and they cannot find ANY fault codes on my van or see any abnormal values, when testing on Live View. How do I go about resolving this issue ? Have you got any tips for me on this issue, or direction for what I can do next ? please do let me know Thank youuu !

False reading of an oxygen sensor signal caused by bad wire? Is this a possibility? Oxygen sensor is new and sparks are black all the time. Carbon monoxide is 5 percent and more, although engine was heated up. Catalytic converter is new.

Hello sir..why my car spark plugs get black ?I have a rattling and engine knocking around and why when I'm accelerating on 120kmph and the engine stall to lower rpm..but the engine doesn't shut off..can I know why?

My engine only starts to run rich when the engine itself starts to get hot. Perfect running in the mornings. After one hour of heavy traffic,, putt putt. black smoke. Have to wait until it cools down.

Boss is it possible that your injectors are clogged and sending extra rich mixture to the engine even your car isn't rough idling pickup smoothly and injector pulse value is showing on scanner " 2.4 "

Hello. If the fuel injectors are clogged it will cause a lean condition instead of a rich condition.

Maybe unsuitable spark plugs? Resistor spark plugs are practically universal for EFI engines.

Check for loose spark plug wires. Change spark plugs and use oem.

My Honda feels forced, it will gradually go up in speed if I press the gas slowly but say I need to pick up speed quickly and press down on the gas all the way the rpm will shoot up but the engine won’t accelerate. Any tips on where to start? No engine light tho
