Great engine swap. Owner must have hit something I would think. But your fixed all that. Should be a good mower for someone. I imagine the price depends on where you live. Get what you can for it that makes sense. Thanks for the diagnosis and repairs.

Thanks D. I think it'll be a better mower than how it started out as eh

Another good save. It's all about the spare parts and engines that can make that happen. What ever happened to the old engine must have been quite serious to make that much damage. Looks good now. Thanks Dave. Stevo
@davessmallenginerevival28472 жыл бұрын
Thanks Stevo. Previous owner must have hit an immovable object to do this kind of damage. I never seen a flywheel broken in half before. Take care my friend

Great job Dave! I have a similar machine a Little bit old at home, on the carburetor there is a small rubber dome to ignite the fuel pushing by hand and it does not work, that is, it does not create the depression to fill the carburetor a little: so I struggle to ignite it, you can completely disassemble the engine so you would have no problems, I I've never done it because then I'm afraid of not being able to reassemble the carburetor correctly! 😁

Hello Alberto. It sounds like you need a new primer bulb or the gasket o the filter side of the carb. That is if it's a Briggs and Stratton engine. Thanks for watching my friend.

Thanks Claus. I wish customers understood that the quantum is better. They always ask how old things are. Like newer is always better. But you are correct, this mower should run for years

Looks and sounds good! A non self propelled like that in central Ohio would bring $100-$125. Self propelled would be $150-$175. Should be an easy sell this time of year with the grass needing cut twice a week!

Hey Dave, I've missed some of your videos, I will be catching up now lol. It is definitely a good-looking mower. What would break that!!!!! They must have hit something hard to bend that shaft on that motor. I guess keeping old parts is not a bad idea. Glad you got it running.
@davessmallenginerevival28472 жыл бұрын
Hi John. I'm guessing they hit something that doesn't move like a pipe sticking out of the ground or something like that. Good to hear from you

How's she goin'? Way to go Dave!! Lots of re-work needed on this unit but you got it. It must have hit something hard to split the flywheel like that eh. I was impressed that you redid the carb and choke. Nice!! I'm sorry but I would have no idea what to charge for this mower, but $100 sounds good to me. Take care!!!

Great job on the mower. I am surprised how bent that shaft was. Over here it would sell for double that but everything is expensive over here

That mower is an easy $100 all day . Mowers are 3 times that new , so you could even go to 150 on a good day . This mower will out live a lot of new mowers . You got to have confidence in your machines and work .

Good Frankenmower. They never should have abandoned the Quantum. If I should get $100, I post at $125. Sometimes I even get the $125, but the $100 should be attainable, because a mower like that, no bag, not self propelled 21 inch cut Troy Bilt is $299.99 at Tractor Supply near me. And that one is a 140cc Chonda.

@@davessmallenginerevival2847 I would wait a bit. Friday is payday and lots of folks need a mower, but have to wait for payday. I would wait till noon Saturday before dropping the price. But that’s just me. I have been in a cash crunch before and put a good $75 mower out at $40. Sold quick too.

@@robertmailhos8159 I got a Quantum mower on trash day last week. It was so covered in bird $hit that it might have been sitting next to a chicken coop. My friends laughed and said “I would have left it there”. But it is an intact complete Quantum. Even if the base turns out to be junk, the Quantum will live somewhere. Just like Dave did on this one.
