Dit is de video van de Glastron V174 Bayflite die omgebouwd is naar een 1.9 TDI AFN van een golf MK3. In de Glastron lag origineel een 3.0 Liter 4 cilinder Mercruiser maar omdat deze een gescheurd onderblok had is deze vervangen door een 1.9 TDI uit een golf MK3. Op de TDI is een turbo van een 2.5 toyota turbodiesel geplaatst. Ook zijn er race 520 verstuivers geplaatst. de motor is op maat gechiptuned tot een totaal van ongeveer 180 PK. Om de motor in de boot te plaatsen moest een versnellingsbak uit een Audi A4 gebruikt worden, deze heeft de startmotor aan de blokzijde en dit is nodig ivm de ruimte. Ook het vliegwiel van de Audi is gebruikt. Op het vliegwiel van de audi is een adapterplaat gemaakt zodat de rubberen Mercruiser koppeling op de TDI past. De koeling wordt aangedreven door de originele pomp van de heckdrive, die pompt het water door de intercooler en vervolgens door het blok en daarna in de uitlaat zodat het water het rubber van de uitlaat koelt. De motorkabelboom is aangepast aan de glastronkabelboom en het elektronisch gaspedaal van de TDI is gebruikt met een opmaat gemaakte beugel. Er is een VCDS stekker geplaatst zodat de motor besturing kan worden uitgelezen. Topsnelheid met een 19 pitch high five schroef is 55 KM/H. Brandstofverbruik is ongeveer 2 liter diesel per uur.
This is the video of the Glastron V174 Bayflite which is converted to a 1.9 TDI AFN from a golf MK3. The Glastron used to be an 3.0 Liter 4 cilinder Mercruiser but because the bottum of the block was torn we replaced it with a 1.9 TDI AFN from an golf MK3. On the TDI we placed a trubo from an toyota 2.5 turbodiesel. We also place race 520 atomizers. The motor is chiptuned to an total of 180 HP. To be able to place the motor in the boat we needed an gearbox from an Audi A4, because this gearbox has the starter on the block side, which is necessary because the of the limited space. We also used the flywheel of the Audi. On the flywheel we made an adapterplate so the rubber Mercruiser clutch would fit on the TDI. The cooling is driven by the original pump from the heckdrive, this pump pumps water through the intercooler and the motor into the exhaust to cool the rubber of the axhaust. the motor wiring harness is adjusted to the Glastron wiring harness. The electronic gas from the TDI is used with an custom made bracket. An VCDS plug is placed so that motor control can be read. The topspeed with an 19 pitch High five propeller is 35 MPH. the fuel consumption is about 2 Liter (=0.53 Gallon) per hour.

Those RPMs are so high! You need a final drive ratio of about half what you're running, it should be 3000rpm at full load and no more!

Klinkt als een lichte schroef Ik haal met mijn bayliner bowrider 60km\u met een 110pk 1.9 tdi 17 inch pitch . Ik hoor bij in planee komen de turbo (standaard) duidelijk bijkomen. Op je film hoor ik de turbo niet , terwijl je een open luchtfilter hebt . Dat zou betekenen dat het vermogen dat je motor zou kunnen leveren , niet in het water afgegeven word. Volgens mij moet er meer in zitten 🥰

Geachte heer Zandstra Mooi werk alle respect voor de manier waarop de ombouw is gedaan . Ik heb zelf ook het idee om een bestaande vw motor 1.9 tdi om te bouwen ,met kabelboom en ecu unit . Ik zie in de youtube video dat u in vcds de software waarschijnlijk heeft aangepast ,was dit lastig om te doen . Heeft u een heatexchanger gebruikt om het uitlaat spruitstuk te koelen ? Tevens heeft u het vliegwiel aangepast was deze zwasr genoeg voor het stationair draaien van de motor . Alvast bedankt voor u reactie

Nog wat gedaan aan de versnellingsback verhouding? want zo'n jankende tdi houdt het niet lang vol in 4500rpm.

Te old engine was about 20 liters per hour.. the new engine is (with a normal speed) close to 2 liters per hour!

That is unbelievable. There is no way this boat is getting better mileage than a car. A tuned TDI gets 60 miles per gallon. That's 1 gallon per hour. @@zandstrasbarncreations4156

How did you delete other unnecessary modules so that codes don't come up. For example, ABS, Transmission, and Airbag modules. Was that all done through VCDS and wiring?

You can delete on VCDS or turn off by decoding plus VW make marine engines already from before its very doable to use a car engine I’m struggling getting my head round how this is cooled only cooled the external exhaust from turbo in marine applications the manifold needs cooling and turbo bolts to the manifold an return to exhaust, a open air inter cooled would be better solution.. would be a good idea to fit an aftermarket EGT sensor we’re the blanked EGR is to monitor exhaust temperature

@@lowdailys Thanks for the info. I have VCDS and an old Crestliner boat I want to drop a CJAA TDi into. I'm good at metal fab so what I was going to do is make an insulated metal box that surrounds the manifold and turbo hot side with an squirrel cage fan and an outlet pipe to a vent. Then use the factory EGT sensors to drive a temp switch for the fan. When it gets hot enough the fan will kick on and provide air cooling to the hot exhaust components. Then after the turbo, I will have a water mixer to cool the exhaust. No one makes a water cooled manifold for the CJAA because it's integrated with the turbo. I can't complain about the price though, I got the car for real cheap cause it was wrecked.

@@iansrving I’m sure would be easier if you do fab work to make a manifold an bolt the turbo on to the side of the water cooled manifold using an aftermarket or similar turbo specs of another VW an control the boost so not maximising the injectors more fuel more heat, EGTs is a must on a marine application would be an idea to have a gauge at front as it’s on full tilt constantly, in a car is not as bad it’s geared down to do 70/80mph at 2500/3500rpm

@@lowdailys Yeah, because the manifold/turbo is cast iron. I can't really do much with welding a flange or something. I suppose I could chose a better turbo and then just make a water cooled manifold out of stainless steel. I already have a few extra autometer gauges from another car project that I decided to go with with AEM on, so I could use them on the boat. I planned on trying to fenagle the manual transmission to work so that I can choose the best gear ratio for my speed and also have neutral. We'll see if that works. If not I can always pick up a used marine gear box from a scrapyard.

Ah goeie! Ast net volle ervaring hast mij elektrisch en elektrische schemas leaze soe ik it oanpassen van de kabelbeam net self dwan, it utsiekjen is nog best wol een klusje. Maar dr bin genoag hobbyisten die it voor onder de 2 bankjes dwan kinne.
