#4 con rod, though not perfect, was usable. The piston is the bigger concern.

I had originally planned on an 18rg. So I mocked everything up with the 18rc engine knowing that an rg would be a bolt in when I found one. I had numerous sellers back out of selling me the rg once a sale had been lined up. Then I thought let's do a BEAMS but I decided against that because of wanting to keep it old school and simple mechanically. I had the rc block and decided why not do something creative with it. I was able to track down a rare intake manifold for twin Webber 40s on the 18rc head. Then I was able to get a rare 8rc cylinder head from a fellow KZbin: "Celica Dreams" and thought this could be a unique combo. It may not be a power house but having Project Snake Charmer with the anticipated 500hp should make up for the need to go fast in a celica. The hopped up 18rc/8rc hybrid should pull harder than my NA Miata which is a win for me.

Was one of those late night eBay searches and it popped up! I think the cam will fit. I need to look at the specs on an 8rc cam vs the web cam to see if it is an improvement.

Another option could be a turbo 3RZ. Eventually I’ll swap that (without turbo) into my 1985 4Runner .
