I love these guys. They are the nicest, most professional, and most knowledgeable people in aviation. Anyone needing Rotax information, these guys ARE the source. Troy Ball

That guy wasn't professional at all and didn't speak standard English. I'd rate him 3/10 at best.

@@jimihendrix5576 Obviously, you have no clue what makes a person a professional in their field.

@@ikay2102 If you don't know my words would be wasted. That guy spoke the southern white version of ebonics. Standard English is not an opinion. If there were no rules we wouldn't have English class in schools.

3 mins in, that's not just a lesson for spark plugs... he's giving on the best lesson my grampa gave me about fixing mechanical things. It ended with the part to remember: "If it won't screw out, screw it in. If it won't screw in, screw it out."

Love your channel bro! Keep it up! Although I am not a subscriber, I will say I thought the FlightChops episode on the Canadian Sukoi crash! Rarely watch crash aftermath videos, but this was really well done, fyi…

Its funny that I came across this video because I just bought a 10hr rotax 447 that's been in storage and didn't know if it would be better to go to these guys instead of shipping it to rotax rick in Naples Florida. I live in North Alabama and it's very easy for me to attend they're school. What do you guys out there think? I need some good advice here. I'm a machinist by trade and I'm not intimidated by doing the overhaul myself but I want it done right without spending an arm and a leg!!!

So blow by is normal on the 912 as long as the leak down test is good because it’s a dry sump system?

Are the rotax a little noisey at idle. Engine noise.

How does one Convert the Compression to Air Craft(78-80) example, from 160psi or 10.3:1 ? Explain how to arrive at that Determination.!
@ExperimentalAircraftChannel Жыл бұрын
If you put in 87psi you should show it holding 87psi. In other words PERFENT is 80-80. (And/or within tolerance of whatever the specs are). If less than... then would see 80-75 etc.

Please watch Mike Bush’s seminar (Savvy Aviation) regarding the engine compression test. It is absolutely the most undependable test of cylinder condition and is likely responsible for more maintenance induced engine failures than any other maintenance procedure. Here are the documented results of a cylinder compression test on cylinder #1 of a Lycoming 235 performed 11 consecutive years by the same mechanic: 78-54-76-64-66-72-63-70-68-67-66. So did the cylinder heal itself a year after it tested at 54 psi? No. The flaw of the test is that it is not repeatable due to multiple factors. Watch the seminar…..
