The man tries to play it off like the oscillation was intended lol.

I would have liked to hear him say (instead): We’ve made a mistake in the design and we’ll fix it.

I wonder how much it would cost to fix that bridge if it collapsed

It would have been very easy to stabilise that bridge from its wobble without losing its aesthetics. Looking at 0:50, rather than running those four cables PARALLEL and so close to each other , I would have extended each support points with two additional compression elements one pointing upwards and one pointing outwards . While two cables stay where they are , one cable would be elevated upwards, while the other would be moved outwards, with all four cables meeting together at the middle or just before the middle of the suspended spans . That part of the walkway on the Vee shaped support would be anchored to it rather than left floating. This would change the present bridge which has no triangular structure, into one closer to the cable support bridges which contain triangular structure, which does not change shape. Other lighter cables can be used to stay other parts of the bridge with triangles to the additional upper and outer support point and so no change of shape would be possible. The damper that he has in mind would correct some side oscillation but not the vertical ones.
