Well, he did voice engineer lines for Paladins in 2017 (if I remember correctly) so it could be that he just takes job offers but Valve just doesnt offer any. He's most likely not like other voice actors, where they enjoy voice acting for people, even almost free, though I am certain that Goodeve enjoys it too but maybe film acting is just more his thing, or he's real busy, or he just wants to get paid for what he does, and not being bothered too much. Though his voice is spectacular. Just like all the VAs.

I sometimes feel it's worth reminding folks that TF2 came out 15 years ago. Folks move on to new jobs. And for Grant, playing Engy was probably just another job. Sure, he's well recognized for it, but I imagine he's like how Harrison Ford is sick of people asking about Han Solo or Indiana Jones, he's done other stuff since then and he'd prefer you asked about that.
