Zimbabweans leave the country because the average person does not have access to money that allows them to purchase, or lease land, drill boreholes etc so going abroad has allowed many people to obtain money and with time hopefully we’ll come back and rebuild. I also think being in the diaspora has also opened our eyes and minds

You don't need a working economy, save your money and you don't need a bank. Seeds, fertilisers, and other inputs are available. Then you have your borehole, tanks and irrigation so that you don't rely on the rains. Hello Mr Gomba, i am very impressed with what i just watched on this post after stumbling on this video, all the way from Cameroon. I have a suggestion to you which is that you avoid seeing just a couple of youths attending the agricultural sessions you mentioned. The way is for you with your incredible insight into things, to meet leaders of various schools and universities in the country so they can authorize you have couple of hours of deep interactive sessions like this one with the students in an amphitheater or school hall. If you do this with them a few times, i believe you will see a great number of them joining your revolution after graduation or even dropping out of school. Why not you also promise to set up an association or club for networking about the industries and helping them navigate the perceived regulations or systems of the country. Mr Gomba i wish you try my suggestion, why not invite Kelvin along to moderate the question/answer sessions and see what will happen because youtube post like this though great but only superficially touches people and mostly diaspora folks focus on it.
@sammesamme-nlar28293 ай бұрын
Another suggestion for you my brother, is why don't you organized, set-up and run an investment club with your knowledge of the industry, since you are already well recognized and trusted. You talked of three million Zimbabweans that could contribute 5000 dollars each in a year to develop the country and i say why don't you team up with Kelvin to publicize and set-up an investment trust fund or club for the diasporas to invest a set deposit amount even if it is not all the 3 million Zimbabweans. You draw up a business plan for all the various agricultural sectors that is worth investing in from farms to value added and market. Everyone who puts their minimum agreed deposit is guaranteed that amount back only after an agreed time frame should they choose to withdraw but, if they choose to stay with the investment, they can be getting some returns yearly or quarterly for as long with their initial investment deposit included. I bet you Sir, you could have a serious impact on the economy of the country and having lots of Zimbabweans stakeholders to the economy of the country.
@tigere012 ай бұрын
Can you do that talk thing you said you wish you could address Zimbabweans. You can start with me pls. I have been in the diaspora and cannot wait to focus on Zim.

No doubt this really are outstanding crops of cabbage, tomato and paw paw, and kudos to the man himself, elder Sam Gomba. But school leavers, new farmers and many others could have learnt much more from this wise man if only the presenter had asked him guiding questions on the economics of marketing cabbage and ir ither farm produce, setting up that kind of greenhouse, water resources, chemicals, etc not to mention obtaining the requisite capital and the land. These are perhaps the facts, and more that one may want to hear from such a presentation.
@daughterofzion76345 ай бұрын
Just start with the little you have stay put and focused all will be well, the problem with many of us is we want to get there first before we start, that’s not the process, the process is to start with the little that you have for you to get there. Those who are great today NEVER started great, there’s a point in time they were selling bananas, some airtime, managed their vending business well until they got where they are today. Start with what you have. 20 broiler chickens 🐓 will take you far.

I think the challenge with Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa is OVER REGULATION. We have too many laws, rules, and regulations that make it difficult to operate. When foreigners come in, like the Chinese, they are given concessions and rebates that make it difficult for locals to compete.

It’s only that Zimbabwean don’t know the rules and those who know choose not to follow
@MotivationFromMinds25 ай бұрын
@@thelifegames4499 you could be right, but the point is there is too much regulation that stifles entrepreneurship. The flip side is also true that there is little to no rule of law, which also scares away diasporian investment.

Never stop your kids for wanting to better themselves. I've taught my kids to have an open mind so wherever they go they can adapt. Who knows what would have happened if his son would've went to a foreign college, maybe he could've spread some of his knowledge to other people who doesn't know about where he came from. And that's making a difference also. Never handicap your kids because you want them to see the world through your eyes. Let them make their own decisions and if they make mistakes then there learning and not resenting that they made a decision based on what you wanted them to do.

I absolutely love the gentleman’s thought process and would love to meet him one day, for some educational material. Its not that we do not want to invest home, we want it so much more than you will ever know, The Problems however is that most of those 3 million Zimbabwean people can not even afford their rent here, never mind investing $5k, enough of them are homeless and can not afford a hot meal most nights, and can not afford to even the flight to return home, as they sold all their bits to come here and have no. Where to go back to and most of all, are embarrassed of being the laughing stock of their family and friends, and so they stay, just to keep up false appearances, because living in the diaspora is 10 times more expensive than living at home. And believe you me, when we sent something home, we are probably going without meals or heating or working triple shifts, with inadequate sleep just to maintain the double life we are living 😢💔

Having a stable currency will be the solution for everything right now there is no trust between the people and our banking system as what you deposit today might not what you get after a week yes he might be getting money here and there but that is a short term success the stake holders now need to thoroughly do their homework on the 2 aspects as no one from outside of the country is willing to take the risk.

The current environment is not encouraging. With things changing on daily basis it becomes difficult to have any concrete business plan unless if someone is investing in extraction industry . Farming is a bit tricky because there is too much interference from the state . Right now they have banned people from selling their livestock to willing buyer willing seller, you have to sell through the government where they determine the price and tax you heavily so in the long run people will stop keeping livestock.
