If you want to try the moldable thermoplastic I use to make the fins, I put a link in the description.

Between the plating, paint, and purple barbs, you captured that typical sunny day iridescence of a fish. Great job……

Another excellent lure build sir! I haven’t seen the thermoplastic product used before. Learned something new🙂. I’ve seen you tape and shape the brush for the tail piece on one of your previous videos. That’s another excellent idea! Thanks for all you do to put out these videos! 🙂

It seems the tail had a significant dampening effect (or maybe the water clarity has changed since the last trial swim?), but the overall effect of the action, paint, pectoral ray and tail should prove irresistible. Congratulations on completing a really challenging lure build 👏👏👏. Looks like 2022 is going to be an interesting year in the EA shop.

Good job Franko! Looks awesome 👌 good job on getting back on the Friday horse too, I can tell it was an effort but we'll done. Lure looks great, I really like the brass pins too, good call on leaving them showing. Gotta love those little unplanned things that end up looking better than you planned. Thanks for the video, hopefully you catch plenty on that one 🎣

Would the floor clear product work ok for painting lures? Looking to give it a try and trying to keep the cost down getting started. I am sure the 2 part or uv products are better but have some floor clear under the sink in the cabinet. Thanks love your content!

@pakde8002

I buy the Chinese UV resin in a 65 gram bottle for less than ten bucks (here in Indonesia) and it lasts a lot longer than you think. I just did a clear coat on a 170mm stick bait and probably used six drops. Use a good quality brush and protect it by wrapping in aluminum foil between projects and it will hold all the excess resin meaning no waste and fewer drops of resin needed. Just make sure you keep it clean and dust free.

In my opinion, this lure is one of your best. It incorporates many of your unique techniques. The new thermoplastic material could really be useful for many things. Like heads with incorporated lips, or formed into bodies in molds. I wonder if the action might be a bit more snappy if you changed to single hooks. Maybe thin the tail hair slightly.
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler 3 жыл бұрын
I think so...the tail could be thinner for sure.

Hi Franco, I have been a subcriber of you channel for, gee, I think it might be a year or two. I've always taken note of how you built your curing box, cylinder. I am still trying to figure out the electronics of the lights. The turning process I think is from a BBQ rotisserie. Would you be willing to show us how you made that, I feel it's best version i've seen. Making that mackerel is going to be my next challange. Thanks for all you advive. Thumbs UP.

Awesome part 2 Franco. I am trying this build but new to swim baits and keen to know the max height and width of your bait to use as a guide. Also is the bottom surface flat or curved?
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler 3 жыл бұрын
I tried to have everything curved on this one. The max height was 1 5/8" and max thickness was 7/8". But you can go a bit more or less on those dimension, the key is symmetry.

I am struggling with concept lip no lip of Swimbite (with hardbody )
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler 3 жыл бұрын
Those are very different lures. Focus on the kind of lure you want to use to fish with. A crankbait with a lip is meant to dive and crank down to depth. A hard body swimbait is typically just slow cranked at whatever depth you want, or near the surface.
