Excellent very informative. I am installing a new aftermarket horn.. Can I use a quick splice connector instead of a t tap? T tap in an 18ga is sold online at advanced. I've only found quick splice connectors but I'm unsure if it is the same
@EngineeredMojo Жыл бұрын
Yes, a quick splice should be the same or similar connection type as I used. Glad the video was helpful for you!

Hey, I am wondering if your car horn would still sound when you locked/unlocked the car? My car will still horn when I lock/unlock but not when I press the horn button on my steering wheel.
@EngineeredMojo5 ай бұрын
Wow that's a complex scenario there. I wonder if youbhave a short somewhere where the two wires (horn power and door lock) are rubbing somewhere under the dash un sheathed
@ZebraLives5 ай бұрын
Yea it’s so interesting. I ruled out the horn buttons, clock spring, relay, and fuse being issue because when I click the horn button I hear the relay click. However when I press the lock button, I hear the horn 😂

You don't have to remove the bumper to do this. The horn and plug are accessible from below the bumper. If replacing the horns don't solve your problem, it is because there's an issue with the steering wheel and clockspring. Maybe as simple as loose horn wires in the steering wheel.

I'll try this again without removing the bumper!

@@EngineeredMojo should be accessible for swapping in a replacement, but if you're rewiring as you're showing in the video, then that would be a struggle without removing the bumper. I pulled some horns at the pick-n-pull for my replacements so they were plug-n-play. Great video btw.

Did everything exactly as you show in the video and with the exact horn that you use and still no horn working. Any ideas? My SRS light has been on forever for some reason I have no idea why.
@EngineeredMojo9 ай бұрын
Hmm if your SRS light is on I'd try a reset of that. Were you in an accident or doing some work where you turned car on with a safety related sensor unplugged? Check out this link from HT as well: honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/srs-light-horn-not-working-please-help-thanks-3175874/

Is it normal for the SRS light to turn on and for the horn not to work?

Not in my experience, definitely want to verify the operation of your air bag
