Could be interesting to have a flood season to completely contrast the drought season in the game
@CottonballMonster3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was thinking of the game having a rainy season too where you need to create a drainage system for your town not to be flooded. If I remember correctly, beavers will move and work fine underwater(I once created platforms on the river and the beaver just walks underwater and built it there) but buildings will be stop functioning if it is flooded. I think it would be better if they would make the beavers move slowler when the path is wet or they are underwater. But from the story of the game, it looks like humanity is brought to extinction due to drought so I think rainy/flood season will not be implemented.

Brief thought: Would it be possible to create a massive tower made of levees, so you have a supersized water silo?
@jasonpeace19913 жыл бұрын
Yes I did this around my water source and with deep water pumps I never run out of water now
@CottonballMonster3 жыл бұрын
its hard to create a high water silo/tower, if you are thinking of a tower that has a small adjustable hole at the bottom to release water, it is impossible as of now. to create a water tank you will need an adjustable hole at the bottom where you can drain the tower, but there is no possible way to create this "hole". if you put an adjustable floodgate as part of the tower you cant put anything above the flood gate so technically the height of your "tower" is just 3units high and it opens from the top. i tried to create this too by using platform/dam to create a hole, putting a levee above it, and putting an adjustable floodgate in front to block the hole. unfortunately you can't put a levee above the platform/dam. ive experimented with some of the buildings if it can block water but they cant only the levee, floodgates, and dam can block the water, the dam blocking it up to 0.5 high.

I've started to really enjoy playing the Foxtails due to Windmills and not needing to micromanage my beaver population. In addition, their Beehives mean you can grow significantly more crops in a smaller footprint. Iron Teeth really need much more space just for food because of this, and their engines require so much metal that I'd rather use for other resources.

QUESTION: Does "WATER STORAGE" fill up when underwater? If so, does having a bunch underwater in a shallow river area, then get exposed in the dry season, able to be a garrenteed water supply?
@spacewolfcub3 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. Both my water pumps and my big water tanks have gotten the “flooded” moodlet many times, and never gained water to their inventory. My Foxtail pumps get routinely submerged because of their stubby pipe depth limit without filling up their inner storage. But I also have never had any of my water tanks become completely submerged, so who knows? If I had to guess, I’d say water tanks are a building like any other, and just _look_ like they’re open at the top for the player. But they’re actually sealed, because I’ve heard that water doesn’t evaporate inside tanks, though they look open to the air.

I've noticed a few times now in your Timberborn series where you have mentioned the red line not reaching where you want to build (see 15:40). I'd figured someone else would have mentioned what it is by now so have not bothered commenting. In my experience with the game that red line shows if a building can connect to the district center meaning if you wanted a lumberjack flag far away from your town it can't be past that walking distance to your district center. and as such any builder huts you add will share the same line when selected as that only shows the range of the city center. The blue box around the outside of your city is most likely the building area as it extends when building roads (though I have not been paying much attention to that aspect during my playthrough). Love your content RCE
@RadeticDaniel3 жыл бұрын
line colors change depending on the selected building constructions must be in range of a builder's hut or district center storage must be in range of extraction flags or production buildings directly or via district center or hauling posts every building with workers must be in range of beaver homes and beavers will move from house to house if assigned work just outside their respctive range it took me some experimenting to check the above one by one and maybe there are some errors with them i haven't figured out yet but overall, it works =)
