Around 4:06, you mention "Low ON state power loss" as in BJT. But depending on current, BJT actually has worse power losses than FET. Right? I think a voltage drop vs current chart comparing BJT, FET and IGBT, (and SiC FETs), would be in place to judge regions where they are the best. Also for a good measure add a Schottky diode curve, i.e. in rectification scenarios.

It is easy to get confused because a mosfet is usually show to have a saturated region where the bipolar is shown to have an active region. The igbt is usually shown to have the characteristics of a bipolar transistor so the saturated region is on the left and the active region in the middle, before breakdown region. This tutorial shows something completely different.

hello, Thank you for a good explanation Can you also explain how to calculate Rce from output characteristics(Ic vs Vce). If possible taking an example from a IGBT datasheet. (IGW25N120H3) and Vge = 15V. Thanks.

I think electrons will flow from collector to emitter and current will flow from emitter to collector.. u said opposite of that.. plz correct me if I am wrong
