Even means no phase difference , odd means 180 phase, as you see in h plane tee it is even mode operation and e plane tee is in odd mode of operations

so many doubts are appearing sir...why is lambda by 4 taken as distance,if it is distance why are u adding it to the phase angle?? second is-> initially u talked about even and odd modes,i.e in phase and 180 degree out of phase,that's fine......but later u said one circuit in odd mode,another in even mode,what does at mean???totally confused,please answer sir

lambda is the path difference and it corresponds to 2pi phase difference
