I largely agree with the points, but the missing nuance is that none of this is universally true. Coding is the easiest part of SE - except when it isn’t because getting the information the stakeholder requests involves solving a complex graph problem. DRY is good - except when it isn’t because code reuse went too far in dynamically building variations of SQL queries that as a whole are almost impossible to maintain indexes for. Programming language doesn’t matter - except when you’re hiring for a kernel developer role and the candidate has only ever done JavaScript. Exceedingly little in SE is black or white. I feel like part of this video tries to highlight that in talking about how everything is a tradeoff, but then fails to apply that very reasoning to the rest of the points.
