Thank you man! Always a pleasure to see your name crop up on my videos. Your wonderful pedalboard makes pedal demos so much easier!

Perfect. I would run just like you have it here! Great video and answered some hot topics for me. I am new to all this myself so every little bit helps! Thanks!

I'm new to it too! haha. It's my first time trying anything like this. I've only ever used cab sims through softare or things like my Line 6 Helix. This is the first time I've used a product that does that job with a pedal setup. It's a great way to turn a pedalboard into a full gigging setup though. I love it from a studio point of view too. So many options for tones!

@@LeighFugeGuitar For now I run into my 2i2 and into pc. Using Ableton with Helix Native, Blue Cat Audio, Amplitub 4, and assorted other this and that's. I guess I need to finish exploring what I have! But this one goes on the list.

CAn you use as an EQ pedal into your amp?

Great job Leigh. Would love to hear the Engl distortion pedal through the cab loader. G'day from Oz.

Hey Shaun, wow great to have someone from Down Under here! Hope you're doing well. I did try the Engl distortion when I was setting up but the combination of that drive into the cab loader didn't work for me, it was a bit too gainy. The Engl distortion works great into a clean guitar amp, I loved how it sounded into an amp, but into the Cabloader it didn't quite give me the sound I wanted for the demo. But, I have another video that I'm planning all about amp style pedals so that pedal will be making another appearance there!

Leigh Fuge Thanks for the reply and explanation. I have had similar experience. I'm not a gigging muso but play at home and with friends. I have a few good pedals and use a Joyo Preamp House into either headphones or an FRFR speaker. I don't record anything,so don't go to my computer. I do have a good Blackstar combo amp but don't often use it. Anyway, I think you are doing a great job and look forward to more great content. Cheers Mate. PS. I have subbed as I'm sure many others will soon.

Great video. Cheers. Is it just me though or is the whole unit quite dark sounding?
@LeighFugeGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's fairly dark, but you can easily add more treble if you want. I personally like a slightly darker sound but you can crank the presence or upload your own IRs which are brighter too.

Wow man, you did a wonderful job explaining this. I actually feel like I could hook this up at a gig and not blow things up
@LeighFugeGuitar4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Dan! The good thing with this pedal is that there is nothing to blow up! Unless you try to plug your speaker out of your head straight into it... then you're in trouble hahah!! If you use it with a pedalboard, or in the FX loop though, it's perfectly safe. It's great to have so many great sounding options in one pedal.

Now the big question is how does this compare to the new Universal Audio pedal? UA is $50 more but that's a negligible price difference if it's a better product.
@LeighFugeGuitar10 ай бұрын
That's a good question... the Cabloader is a few years old now, and the last few years have been absolutely insane for IR related tech. The Cabloader is great, but the new UA pedal is more current and probably has more features internally. I haven't tried one so I can't fully comment on it.

@@LeighFugeGuitar I ended up grabbing a demo unit from sweetwater (OX Stomp) and from what I gather, there is a TON of flexibility with the unit. I've got some neat routing/switching ideas planned for it to hopefully be able to do a solo boost, DI out back into my Amp1 Iridium FX loop so that I can have reverb on, switchable delay but also another output with cab sim going to house PA. I THIIINK it will work how I'm wanting it to but it'll take some time poking around in the phone app to set it all up and confirm if it will or won't do what I'm hoping to achieve.

Great video! It needs a preamp before cabloader?A simple overdrive pedal it's ok? Thanks:)
@LeighFugeGuitar3 жыл бұрын
You can pair it with an overdrive, but I think "amp in a box" style pedals work best. The more EQ options you have on the overdrive pedal, the more you can shape the tone.

How does this compare to the NUX solid studio ?
@LeighFugeGuitar2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried the NUX one so I can’t say exactly how it sounds against it, but out of other IR loaders I’ve tried I can confirm it works well and I like the way it sounds

Thank you man! They're great for having lots of cab options. I'm surprised but how much it can do. It's my first time digging into something like this and I love it!
