We didn’t ‘expect’ anything! We somehow found ourselves in the final so why not try and win it right? We all knew Spain have been fucking brilliant all tournament, but for us to somehow get to the final it’s the hope that kills you. For us we just wanted our team to play better and hope that some individual brilliance could get us through again but realistically we all knew going into the final that we didn’t deserve to be there, we got the easiest group and still stunk the place out, we were literally seconds away from being knocked out by SLOVAKIA and only getting through on individual brilliance, but as a team we’ve been poor which all of us knew!

Let’s be 100% honest , England were in the easiest pool & England played one good game all tournament, the 1st vs Serbia in their pool, their other games in the pool were 2 draws . Then they were in the easiest draw to the semis , they barely beat Slovakia , should have lost the Switzerland, got a questionable penalty that wasn’t against Netherlands , they should not have made the final , it basically made the English public think their team was better than they are. They illogically think all other teams are there to be brushed aside. Many people are taken in by these 'experts' and then can't understand it when we lose. I've followed England since '66 and have got used, like many of similar age, to ignoring the pundits. I think though it's the younger fans who believe all the hype.

I think England fans should be more thankful for having reached two finals, that's a major achievement. They may have not shown the best football, but sometimes the ones who are not the best end up winning. However they should keep in mind that it's a tournament of 24, and only one can win. Not winning, but arriving at the finals, cannot be seen as a failure, and as much I understand it's frustrating, I think it's unfair and kind of toxic to blame the players and the coach like that, when they have brought their best results in decades.

Their 'entitlement' knows no bounds. No respect for any opposition and puzzlement and anger because they didn't win as their press and pundits told them they would. Let's recap: an easy qualifying draw, prior to the tournament, got them there. At the tournament, they scraped through an easy qualifying round. In the next round of matches, the gods smiled on them and put all the dangerous and talented nations in the same side of the draw (Portugal, France, Germany and Spain), leaving them to face Slovakia and then Switzerland before disgraceful refereeing saw them scrape into the final by beating the Netherlands. Meanwhile Spain won every game they played and played very well. Yet these morons complain and moan that it must be their manager's fault that they didn't win the tournament! He did exceptionally well with the mediocre and egotistical players he had and a large helping of luck. Everyone who knows anything about football knows that Spain were worthy winners.
