This was a Tournament that England really deserved to win. So tragic that penalty shootout. I really wished that they had played just a fraction as well in the 2024 Euros, as they did in 2020/21. Sterling, Henderson, Walker, Maguire, all missing but so important to the England game, and it showed, despite some individual brilliance by Saka, Bellingham, Watkins and Palmer. Roll on 2026 World Cup and the hopes of all England fans might finally be rewarded with a long deserved title again.
