although he did have so many injuries, he was also just not called up by multiple coaches, he ended up saying he wasnt going to go to camp anymore because he knew he would just be holding tackle bags. such a waste of talent for england..... again

Tindle's pass from the floor was superb on try number 2. Watched many of the 2002 matches recently and there are a bunch of trys where the ball goes through many hands that were far better than most of this selection. Some sublime rugby from those world cup winners which was not reproduced in the finals. They were far better than they have been given credit for. Superb off loading skills from the whole team.

Robert, it was in searching for Hill's highlights that I stumbled across this video and your comment, the latter being most generous--and bang on! Cheers! He was phenomenal. The front five England had through the late-90s/early-2000s is undoubtedly our best, and present a strong case for the game's greatest. Happy new year!

The hands of Jonny Wilkinson. So so good. I think the whole team benefited from his all round genius. There were a lot of very very good players in that era but Mr Wilkinson was head and shoulders above all of them. Except for Ben Cohen.

Love this. Only downside for me (to the extent that I can't watch it) is Kronfeld's disgraceful knee in the face of David Rees well after the try and tackle. Took 2 teeth out and knocked Rees unconscious. ABs do it all the time.

Cueto was involved in my two favourite moments here - the volley against Argentina, and the catch on the full against South Africa. Partly it's the crowd reaction (especially the second one) that makes it, but they're two great great bits of play.

Agreed, I think Cueto was massively underrated during his career. A lot quicker than many people realised, and had good skills too - that volley was genius. To hit it like that while running full pace, and to control the kick perfectly as well, takes some doing

Not really, he's a good try scorer yes but even in his prime his defence was awful, he cant kick to save his life and if the games not going his way, he's very lazy. He's got good support play and he's fast thats it. May and Watson, beat him every time. Especially to someone like Eddie Jones
