England to the Sahara, Morocco on my 2010 Triumph Bonneville.
In this, the final part of my journey, I cross the high pass section of the Atlas Mountains, across unpaved tracks, to a tiny oasis on the edge of the Sahara.

One of the great things you have done for motorcycling through your adventurous journeys is show us that all motorcycles are adventure bikes. Seeing you ride that Triumph through the Atlas mountains should be an encouragement to us all. No matter what bike you can get on and ride, you should ride. Anytime, anywhere, can be an adventure, even if you can only ride along with Freddie virtually. Keep up the great work Freddie !

Hi Freddie, thanks for sharing your amazing road trip. It just proves the spirit of adventure is still alive in today's generation as it was in my generation. In 1971 as a young man I set out on a similar trip, only difference being I left my 650cc BSA at home and hitchhiked instead. I made my way through France and Spain and on to Morocco when I ran out of money. Nine months later after working in Gibraltar I returned to Spain, bought an old motorbike from a guy in Granada and set off round the Mediterranean coast. The bike was seriously underpowered (125cc Ossa) but it got me after many adventures through France, Italy and Yugoslavia to Greece and on to Istanbul where I stayed a while before turning for home. Got as far as Nuremberg where the bike finally died and finished off hitching back to England. Your trip reminded me of what an absolute pleasure it was biking on those almost empty continental roads. Looking forward to further adventures on your channel. John.

@LondonCarnaval
@LondonCarnaval Жыл бұрын
I don't think he's been taken advantage of. He clearly said: He ordered food for 3 people 😅 so that £30 ÷ 3 = 10 . Next time just order a meal for yourself and if still hungry which i doubt it, with that amount of bread they serve everytime, just order extra salad then eat all the nuts and the biscuits or mini cakes they usually serve with the tea ... I remember ordering full baguette filled with sausages (merguez) and salad plus chips and a drink for merely £3 and ended up eating the rest of it for my dinner 😅 . It's just matter of planning. Same example for when run out of cash 😮. I just made sure I had 600 cash on me all the time, and kept topping it up everywhere I find places to withdraw cash... Awesome video nonetheless 👏 👌 definitely brought back lot of memories 👌👍👏 ✌❤☘

Freddie, no mate you weren’t ripped off for your large evening meal. Alas I was when I arrived in Casablanca, straight off the plane from Aus and paid an unauthorised travel guide to show me around the place. I ended up paying the guide around 600/dirums for the 3 hr tour. Even so, in truth I didn’t mind as I learnt so much and got see places I probably wouldn’t have. Its all relative. If you had an enjoyable meal then accept it for what it was and think about what it might have cost you back home to have had such an experience. I am sure it would have cost you way more. I absolutely agree with you though on your summary of your experience in travelling through Morocco. It surely is one of the most amazing countries to visit and from my travels there it remains really special to me.

To be fair you do need a bike set up for off roading if you're planning to go off into the desert/ on rough mountain tracks. And luggage space for sufficient water, fuel, food & tools. That's generally what groups on adventure bikes are up to. That's an entirely different sort of adventure to this one.

Thanks for the great views of Morocco. I now have watched two motorcycle tours of Morocco both different and so interesting. Yours would be more like something I might attempt. You showed just how versatile a retro street bike can be. Itchy Boots trip was on trails and roads I would never think to attempting. Both trips showed the beauty and culture of Morocco. I sold my Multistrada because it just was not a great bike for the city. Stop light to stop light it was just too much bike. Also too hot for Dallas summers. I now ride a Moto Guzzi 850 V7 Special. You proved, if I need to go down an occasional dirt or gravel road, I can do it.

Well done Freddie. Amazing achievement and truly inspiring. If you have a dream go do it, you don’t need loads of money, prep, or a big support team just some ambition, humility and grit. Having said that definitely try and get a riding buddy for these. I’m done plenty or things that were a bit crazy and certainly I was a bit over my head, but those things are so significantly less dangerous if you have even just one other person who can lend you a hand with a job that’s hard to do solo, remind you when you forget something, look after you if you get sick/hurt and ultimately go get help if things get a bit dire. I know that’s easier said then done, not a lot of people have the same appetite for adventure! One thing I particularly liked was the young man who flagged you down, not just to make a bit of money but I sense genuinely out of a bit of brotherhood wanting to make sure you were safe over those next 90miles. These adventures remind us that there are some great people out there. Started watching your channel with the Barcelona trip so glad to see another adventure. Look forward to the next one.

Amazing trip, Freddie and an amazing video with high quality images and sound. So enjoyable. Something that might be of help to you: to save some fuel you freewheeled down the mountain. I'm not sure, but I think the Bonneville has fuel injection. That would mean you consume more fuel freewheeling when the engine is idle. When you release the throttle, the injection pump closes of the fuel completely. But please, freewheel whenever you like. And take us with you.
