Nice one and glad you like the 500 😁 I went on a euro-trip on my Bullet 500 last year, and preparing for a new one, leaving at the beginning of may from France to Turkey, and then heading to the north (Finland, Sweden etc) Approximately 10,000km. I have a Thunderbird 500 in Matte Black which is the Meteor 350's predecessor and its factory exhaust is just perfect. It gets loud enough to get you giggling when you go high in the revs. It's a proper rumble and sounds unlike anything on the road. For some reason it sounds a little different from the classic, even though they have the same engine. The TB has a low, deep, thump at idle and low revs that no other bike offers anymore. It's a priceless possession for me and I can't imagine myself without it, quite honestly.
@marknankivell4533 Жыл бұрын
The missing a few beats is water getting into the electrical plugs and spark plug lead connecting to the coil. My previous bike was a classic 500 and each time it got wet I had spray WD-40 on the electrical plugs around the engine or the engine would misfire.

Great video. My first long bike ride years ago was in Texas and we didn`t plan for rain and had no rain gear. The day we had to come home it rained cats and dogs. We were able to find some PVC rain gear in a small town grocery store and used duct tape to tape our sleeves and leg openings tight. It was our first rain riding and was 4 hours home. Made for great memories. ;-) The RE 500 is a classic and I`d love to have one some day in EFI though.

Hi Freddie Been a subscriber for a while now and really enjoy your motorcycle adventures with Monica who does an excellent job of cataloging all you both do. I picked up a Battle Green Classic 500 last year and it’s been customised into a kind of scrambler/bobber. It looks like some long forgotten WW2 military scrambler. Very Steve McQueen and I love it. Your welcome to take it out anytime. Beautiful bikes and I’ll never part with mine. Watching your bike adventures has made me change the way I think about biking in general. I’ve gone from tracking Fireblade’s and am now focusing more on the classic cruising style of riding together with my Mrs who enjoys days out on the pillion as much as I do riding. Really like the way you tow the triumph behind the Fiat and made me also realise why bother with miles of mind numbing motorway riding just to get to destination, just tow the bike behind the car and then let the real adventure begin. Was wondering if you’ve ever considered taking the Rocket 3 for a test ride? I’m seriously thinking of adding one to the stable along with my other bikes. Would love to see your review of the beast just with some two-up sedate cruising. Be well the both of you and ride safe.

I bought the Classic 350, December 2022 since when she's been a garage queen (heavy winter snow state). The low power option was a purposeful decision. Now the weather is in the 70s. I had it out only twice, for inspection sticker duty. And yes, a 'comfortable' bike. I hate to imagine the 500, if she's a less comfortable precursor! Kudos on this mammoth road trip. The north part of the island actually had some beautiful spots and it's much more quiet and less touristy. Worth a night or two. The cooler temperature and the fog on the mountain of bali was for me, An absolute highlight. In less than 30 mins ride you go from boiling hot and crowded streets to cool, twisty mountain roads. Perhaps if you prepared a bit better you'd also get more enjoyment out of it. You are absolutely right ofcourse that Google maps is wildly inaccurate with travel times in bali, you must at least double the estimate to get closer to a true number.

Saw 2 dead people on the street. Accidents and ambulances non stop. Young Thai men drive with a deathwish. No rules are followed. 3) The humid heat. It is like living in a sauna. Being Swedish I dream of fresh air. 4) Air pollution due to people burning things. Mostly farmers I guess... Being here you need a scooter. Without it you are stuck and sweating like a pig. But...the more accidents i saw...the more depressed I got. Luckily I didn't see any injured children. But there must be horrible bike accidents with children...being in front of the adult driving the bike the children must...Well, think for yourself. I am staying in Europe in the future...

Great video Freddie. Looks like you and Monika had a fantastic adventure. Shame you couldn't show us the steamed up clock on the bike and we couldn't hear how it was misfiring towards the end. Looking back at your previous video you said that the paint job was the worst ever. It looked like an immaculate matt black finished tank to me..... You also said the bike felt like it weighed a ton (or words to that effect). The weight difference between the Classic 500 and all new 350 is about 5kg...... Then there's the power difference. This isn't marginal. The Classic 500 has 30+% more torque and BHP than the all new 350. I have one of the final Classic 500's in Battle Green and I also own a brand new Himalayan. The fit and finish of the 500 is actually of a higher standard and I've heard plenty about negative chrome to paint edging issues on the All New 350............

Living these trips vicariously is soooo much more comfortable than riding them! 😁 (Still envy you though.)

You should see if Trip Machine can send you guys some free luggage to review. They're stylish, old-school leather bags that you can turn into a backpack/satchel and some of them come with waterproof covers. Wanted to get some in the future but not sure if they're worth the premium.

I love the look of their stuff. I’ll see if I can test some of it out because it’s some of the coolest looking luggage👌🏻
