Still makes me smile. Watched this as a 10 Yr old and so began a love affair with Cricket. Botham Ashes yes but watching Bob Willis was amazing

Willis is hugely underrated. People drone on about Thomson, Lillee and the various West Indian quicks but when people talk about the true greats they usually leave him out. He took 325 test wickets at an average of 25, which puts him right in the mix with the best of them.

Just before watching this, I watched the 50th Anniverary video of Miles Daviez' 'Kind of Blue'. It and this England win are both 'beyond sublime'. Thank-you for both uploads!

Wood was never out!

I don't agree, if you slow it down and stop the video on the right frames you can see the ball hit the ground first then the bat. I understand Wood's frustration, I played myself and you aren't always sure when that happens because as the batsman you don't actually see the point of contact for yourself but for me, the umpire got it right.

but Lillee was - it hit him on the glove and he pretended it was his arm haha. Woof!

If you look carefully. It hits the bat about 6 inches up ,just as he hits the floor with the end of the bat. Looks out to me. The umpires always know.
