The ref cannot be from the same country that plays. This needs to be changed immediately or the game will never grow to another level. This ref did good though this game, but somebody needs to knock some sense into the Tonga coach. Koula needs to be fullback for this team.

Ref was lenient on England giving away back-to-back penalties on their line, holding down tackled player for a ridiculously long time. If that was a NRL game, a couple of those guys would have gone to the sin bin.

English myself if this test series was played over in Tonga be complete opposite being a 3-0 piping for Tonga they just couldn’t cope with our slow Ruck I honestly wish it got cleaned up and made to be faster like in nrl just makes it so much better

What a difference coming from union to league. Continuous play without a tea break or whistle being blown every 5 seconds. Awesome to see Tonga playing so commendably too against a nation with much bigger resources than their own! I just wish the ref could have been a neutral. This is one thing that really cheeses me off about league internationals 😔 Surely they could have got a Kiwi or an Aussie to do the job on the day! That said, gotta give respect to England. Their forwards looked mean as! 💪

Tonga have been dreadful the last 2 years. They've made no massive strides forward since their fantastic win of Australia in 2019. Maybe it's time for a new coach? That's from a Tongan!

Tonga wasn't ready....England had more opportunity to prepare against Tonga. This game was already in the bag for England. They should of game Tonga a few weeks to practice before they had the 3 matches.

Biased refereeing on a number of occasions. He was looking for a “late hit” that didn’t exist. And guaranteed the penalties on englands line would have been a sin bin for the “ill disciplined Islanders”. Instead they have a chuckle about how early the England player jumped. Such a cheap way to reset the line with no downside.

Tier 1 teams would be playing you many times knowing that you could be a threat in the world cup. If Fiji went up, they would be playing Fiji in the series. This is where we should be very smart because all this tier 1 teams wanting to do is to exploit our weaknesses and make sure that we’re not the powerhouse in the future
