Phil Foden is one of those players who play so well for his club and yet doesn’t translate that level of performance with the national team. He’s coming off the best season of his career with Manchester City where he has 39 G/A (27 goals and 12 assists in all competitions) and was the best player in the Premier League last season, but we’ve yet to truly see the best version of Foden in an England shirt. He’s a different player for his country than he is with his club and when I say this, I’m not trying to say that he’s a mediocre player who only looks good when he’s on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, for a player of his caliber, England have to do more to bring out the best in him. For the national team, he has been okay for them in major tournaments if they are to win the EUROs, they need him to step up and showcase the form we consistently see at club level on a weekly basis. I feel like they don’t know how to utilize him properly especially since he’s never really been a proper winger and he’s been used out of position and they have no choice but to play him there because Jude Bellingham is their number 10 and his profile best suits Harry Kane because Kane can drop deep allowing Bellingham to make in behind runs, even if you play Foden as a number 10 his preferred position where he thrives best, he only wants the ball to his feet as that’s the sort of player he is he doesn’t have Rodri behind him where he can play those sort of passes directly to him, Rice is a more of a box to box midfielder who’s is a different player than him where he protects the back 4 and contributes in the attack. Since there’s no Marcus Rashford Jack Grealish or even Raheem Sterling, Foden is basically their left winger even though he isn’t one. People need to realize that England play much different from Manchester City and their team doesn’t suit him and he has to be on the field they won’t drop him unless he underperforms and doesn’t have a place for them in the starting lineup. He’s a prime example on why you can’t judge a player’s form at club level to determine how they’ll play for their country and Foden has to step up for England.

The problem with England players is they look great for their clubs because world class foreign players make them look better than they are. When they have to play for their country, their skilled support goes down fifty levels and they get exposed as mediocre like Foden, Saka, Rice, Bellingham, etc. Kane can't even win a trophy with world class players, let alone without.

I will never play walker as a right back he should play center back with John not right back for England his grown up and he can lead from behind and trent play right back and as for jude his a center midfielder not playing him as a number 10 ahead of phil and for left back no way im playing Kieran Trippier he should be bench and i will play a left center back there so we have 3 center backs and trent just going forward up that line why walker will cover him up but this coach will always just repeat the same old system every time end up winning nothing

Im excited to see Jude and Trent link up because they’re so close off the field so hoping their chemistry is good. Also the games him and Saka played together also showed that has the potential to be a special link up as well. If Walker doesn’t get in their way like he did in one of the ones end of last year. Neither could go into the space they wanted cause his awareness was horrible. Hopefully they’ve worked on it.

As we have a problem at left-back, the answer is to play a back three, with a box of four centrally, and you can still have three forwards. It's a five and five.
