Hope so too. My old man's passed away, caring for my mum so will watch with her. They were married in '65 and watched the '66 final in a packed neighbours house who happened to own a TV. My mum was perched on the arm of a sofa near the end of the game. When the 4th goal went in everyone on the sofa jumped up, and my mum and the sofa tipped over sideways! Crazy to think she was younger then than my oldest daughter is now.

I’m watching it with my mum 93, to remember something that’s so long ago is amazing. What’s more amazing is mum was 14 when the war finished, she was in the London blitz with scars from a land mine that blow up the house next door. She had gas lighting in the house with an outside loo and a tin bath that was placed in front of an open fire to wash in once a week. Only entertainment was a wireless radio. What a life to live from that to her now sitting playing with her iPad ! So much has changed in those years, appreciate these moments with your dad they are very special !

You must’ve been watching a different game the last 15 to 20 minutes Kane was on the pitch he never touched the ball once he should be on the bench and put the best team out on the pitch. He’s not up to par not from the first game the second game the third game fourth game he was nowhere to be seen, he couldn’t hold the ball up, he cannot run. I think my grandmother without running and she’s been dead for 50 years we have got to start with 11 men on the pitch with Kane on the pitch we are down to 10 and then everybody’s trying to cover for him. Did you not watch the game? The last half an hour passed to him because you get on losing the ball at one stage Bellingham look at him straight in the face. thought about passing to him and knew if he passed to him he would lose the ball and pass to someone else. It’s a shame to say I know he was a good striker but he’s been playing second division football in Germany and that’s the problem. He’s not up to task now he’s lost it, we’re gonna win this. We have to start with our best players and Kane isn’t one of them.

We have 1 big advantage in my opinion over the Spanish. That is our bench, we've got unbelievable talent to come on. Anyone who had another look at the France, Spain second half would realise that Spain rode their luck in that game. They hardly created a chance in that half, save a speculative shot from Lamal and gave up half a dozen decent chances. They were opened up on the flanks time and again and if Demebele had a final ball they would have been in trouble. But that half gets tuned out because of the general narrative around France. They didn't control that game.

Great - review. My sense: because Spain are not afraid of losing the ball they will win, because they will also chase to win it back (and they will - because we can't hang on to it). People are putting way too high of an expectation on Mainoo. This is the problem with modern football, we build up these young players just to tear them down. This won’t be a pretty game at all, if we were to win it will be by the skin of our teeth. Saying ‘’Its written in the stars Mainoo scores’’ and ‘’He will show Rodri levels’’ is putting too much pressure on the young lad.

Southgate started the last Euro final with a back 5, and that had both Shaw and Trippier as wingbacks, yeah, 2 holding midfielders, and no room for Saka in the starting 11

This formation is different though. The two attacking midfielders allows you to play 4 in the central areas (Jude, Foden, Rice and Mainoo), no matter whether you’re attacking or defending.

It doesn't matter what formation he plays without tactics they all end up defending in our own half. Then if by a miracle we get a chance to break we have a striker who can't run. Southgate is a fraud of a manager being bailed out by decent players and good luck

That's very true. Spain beat kthe likes of Italy, Germany (host nation)f and France to get to the final and England had to come through Slovakia, Switzerland and Holland. England are VERY lucky to be in a final - they don't deserve to be.

I just wake up this Sunday morning . And I dreamed that I was listening to this podcast on KZbin and Phil Foden was interviewed by you guys. England won.
