ENGLEWOOD, FL NEIGHBORHOOD TOUR | from downtown to the waterfront and a Bayfront single family home

Allow me to take you on a tour of the quiet little beach town of Englewood, Florida.
We begin in downtown Englewood, off of Dearborn Street. Englewood is a small town, with approximately 20,000 people. It stretches from Sarasota to Charlotte County and is has an Old Florida feel. The downtown area is undergoing some renovations and refurbishments, but offers many shops, restaurants and yearly events.
EVENTS:
The Englewood Farmers Market runs on Thursday's from October thru May.
Cruisin on Dearborn Street is held the first Saturday of every month at 5pm and welcomes hundreds of car enthusiasts with a free vintage antique car show.
The Englewood Beach Wateriest is a marine racing event that takes place in November each year.
We made a stop at Village of Oyster Creek, a condo community that offers boat slips and condos with a community pool.
Last, we take you on a speedy walk thru of a fantastic home coming to market on Oregon Trail.
We end our at The Lighthouse Grill at Stump Pass. This is a beautiful water front restaurant that is pet friendly and a great serene setting. Check out the menu below:

We have friends who have lived in Englewood for over 25 years, we bought a home on the Port Charlotte/ Englewood border, and the small community feel of Englewood is what appealed to us. Although the 776 corridor is a typical Florida retail strip, the Lemon Bay coast and Gulf side coast still has the old Florida character that we enjoy. Of course like everywhere, development is rampant, we just hope it doesn't change the character of the town into a city.

I would like to see next time what they call affordable homes in the canal. Other realtors have shown houses that are not for millionaires. So if here the houses are half price those of Sarasota city, there is a contradiction on the prices. Think about it!

We have approximately 900-1,000 people per day moving to Florida. I think it has come down to supply and demand right now. There's only so much water frontage. And baby boomers wanting to secure a spot in paradise. My team and I are listing a single family home for $295k {NOT on the water of course}. Affordability still exists. You just need a local expert who can show you. Thank you for the feedback!

very nice video. the gal and I like the area alot and we got to see little Gasparilla island before the hurricane. coming out in June. hope some of these beautiful places come back fast. thank you. like to see a slower version of that great florida/key west home on the water

I don't understand Dearborn. At first glance it is charming, but there is nearly nothing there. They need a ton more cafe's, bars and restaurants there. So many of those buildings would make perfect places to see live music and eat etc. They need an ice cream parlor, a juice bar, a breakfast place, a fishing/tackle shop would be great. It's nice and all but severely underutilized. There's plenty of parking but I go there for two reasons, the barber shop and the farmers market.
