Thanks for your time to reply. I agree with you. I have Taiwanese friends, speaking Mandarin, then moved to Shanghai. Both of their children speak English, and were taught by a Welshman so therefore using British English. They now have moved to San Francisco and they say to me in their emails that they don't understand the American English as they use different words for different things, and the American kids say to them "why don't you speak English". That's a laugh coming from an American. My Filipino friends all speak American English, so I'm trying slowly to educate them in English words and not American English. I have to say they didn't realize there was a difference between the two.

skyspy , hi, I am a Filipino living in Taiwan. I also teach English-language. Did you know that there are more than two English-language they use in the world? It depends on which country or environment you grew up with and how well you acquired English from speaking, watching, reading and learning. You have to listen very well in English because European English is also different from American and British English. Go to India and Singapore and know the difference.

This is NOT English. It's American English. If you want to learn true English, learn from an English teacher from UK. In this video, this man used words that English (British people) would never use.

For purposes of SEO (search engine optimization) and brevity, I choose to use the word English without the adjective "American" in my titles, as most learners of English search for content simply writing "English" instead of specifying "Australian" English, "British" English, etc. As a learner of Chinese I wouldn't say someone from Taiwan does not speak "true" Chinese and therefore couldn't make a video teaching Chinese with their particular accent. It's a matter of preference. I make these videos for free, to be a help to people- not to deceive my viewers. I hope this makes sense. Have a great day!
