I remember when I was a kid and showed off to my babysitter how I could count to 100. Poor woman lol, bless her. Never did a song make counting to 100 sound so epic! This song is rather ironic though, considering Mob is actually very special, having ESP! I think everyone wants to be unique, but they don't think about the strings attached. They want to be unique in a positive way, with none of the downsides. But when you're "special" you're also different from the rest, for better or for worse. It's a lonely life, and often those who are different get bullied or simply excluded. Especially in a very comformist society like Japan, but even in the U.S. where individuality is emphasized, those who are too different get picked on. I don't know if I'd call myself "special" (actually I've also dreamt of being special, just like everyone does) but I do find that my tastes and other things don't really align with the overall populace. Or it feels that way, anyway. I wish in some ways I were normal, that I had the same tastes so I could more easily make friends, and that I was normal and able to do things that normal people can do without having a panic attack lol.
