_"Do you need to feel special to feel ok?"_ Wish some people would look at that sentence a few billion times and then a few billion times more
@Just_A_Dude8 жыл бұрын
We are nothing but insignificant, incredibly brief flickers of cohesion stuck to the surface of an insignificant bit of dust floating in an infinite void, orbiting a glowing speck that's one of a couple hundred billion specks that make up just one of the couple hundred billion galaxies that are close enough for us to count. Half the purpose of religion is to put as much self-delusion as possible between the believer and this fact. Most people seem completely incapable of understanding that the meaninglessness of existence is freeing: Nobody is special. You have no fate, no pre-determined "place" in the universe. The only thing separating you from what you want is time, knowledge, and effort.

@leroy shane Imagine being a young Vegeta who was first directed to murder by Emperor Frieza, shortly after coming to terms with the destruction of Planet Vegeta.
@kennethsouza7945 жыл бұрын
@leroy shane And yet I still remember his tearful confession about what was done to him, moments before Frieza put him down before Goku's eyes. Being bred for battle doesn't make all people suited for it from cradle to grave, my man. Violence is traumatic to the inexperienced, no matter who you are.
@kennethsouza7945 жыл бұрын
@leroy shane You're not wrong, but implying that Vegeta wasn't molded by the violence in his life is entirely the wrong approach. Goku, for example, didn't have that kind of influence and treats fighting as more of a personal challenge, rather than a matter of supremacy or pride. Mob's character is entirely shaped by his initial Reigen, especially the part wherein he is told that "You must live your life like a normal person." Reigen is the lightning rod that absolutely grounds Mob, despite his overwhelming power, and I think that his nature would have done the same to any anime protagonist that happened across him, from Goku to Urameshi to Ichigo to whatever the main character of that pirate anime was named. He's just a normal guy who finds himself thoroughly whelmed by the extraordinary, and in turn allows extraordinary people to find a center by his ideology. Mob's a kid. It's okay if he runs away, even if he can easily handle whatever truly terrifying problem he comes across. Vegeta's past was already past by the time his appearance happened in both the anime and the manga, but it would have been okay if he ran away, too. This doesn't change the fact that he's effectively a child soldier that was unfortunate enough to not get slaughtered in the horrors of war, thus producing a callous monster who's still trying to come to terms with the overwhelming power he was blessed with, and the even more devastating power that Goku has. They're what would have happened to Mob if he hadn't found a solid foundation in Reigen. And that's also okay.

“And it’s okay if you run away.” Before seeing the show through this bit just seemed like a nice nod to how Mob disliked violence. However, after seeing all of season 1 this line... Man this line just hits so hard. Seeing Regin just stand for Mob like that it had me tearing up. “When things go south it’s okay to run away and save yourself.” He’s a shady guy but you can tell he sincerely cares about his student. It’s a shame about what happens between them in the next season but Mob was bound to know what was going on eventually.

Two years ago, I visited Japan for the first time and met up with some online friends. It was wonderful. But they left a day before me and on the last night, I was alone. I reverted to my introverted self and spent 12 hours in a tiny room in a backpacker's hostel, not wanting to go out by myself. I felt miserable, like I was a failure and wasting the time in Japan that I'd worked so hard and dreamed so long for. I ruminated on the fact that my years of Japanese study were actually half hearted and barely helped at all. I worried about the impression I left on my friends. I listened to this song that day and cried. The message that it's okay to be yourself, with all your flaws, hit me so hard. I don't know if you'll see this comment on a video so old, but I wanna say thanks. You gave me some comfort on that painfully lonely night.

I get it... Even though I don't know what that coding language is....for people who don't understand it's a code to print numbers from 1 and add 1 consecutively up-to 100
I'm not smart enough to understand this joke. But I still laughed from confusion.

Not only does this cover sound awesome, it has a great message behind it. I think a lot of people have found themselves out of place, especially growing up, trying to figure out what to do with their life. This song is basically saying you don't have to be the world's most powerful psychic to have a life worth living. "Your life is yours, so live each day". Really good message.
