Go listen to the original lyrics for Stella Cole "DIY"...these lyrics at ASC is definitely the "radio-friendly" version! And there had better be a tribute album for this like they do for Eurovision Song Contest...I don't care if I have to pay $60 for it!!!

I'm looking forward to the ASC final tomorrow. Despite none of the songs rising to a level of favorites for me (unlike Melodifestivalen) and I really wish something had, I still like the show. The production values and format are outstanding (and no surprise there with a former show-runner of Melodifestivalen being involved with ASC). The artists are definitely set up for success and I appreciate the effort they have all put into their performances. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that songs I considered to be the best of the entires have all made it to the final (thought for sure American taste in music would have instantly eliminated anything I might like and promote stuff I strongly disliked - certainly the jury of so-called "experts" did). My top two picks are Riker Lynch / Feel The Love and Grant Knoche / Mr. Independent. I was actually surprised when I looked up the songwriters and discovered that Jimmy Jansson (a favorite of mine from Melodifestivalen some years ago and more recently frequent song writing contributor to other Melodifestivalen entries) was involved with Feel The Love. There is this catchy bit in there that... almost... had me hooked and now I have to wonder if that was his contribution. I also think Jordan Smith / Sparrow and AleXa / Wonderland are strong contenders. There is nothing technically wrong with any of the songs although the rest move into styles I just don't care for much. Whichever song wins from the pool of finalists... it will be well deserved. Hopefully the show will do well enough to return next year with 56 new original songs... and hopefully at least 1 will become an instant favorite for me (eventually).

I feel like they should do one big event for the finale with 20 songs instead of these two semi finals. I t would have a bigger impact! So many good songs left in the semis! It would have been great to have them all in the final! I really liked North Dakota, Georgia and Kansas.
