✍️ QUESTION: How many of these common grammar mistakes were you able to correct? Which were hard for you?
EXAMPLES:
1. I always have a hard time to understand...
-- hard time + gerund
I have a hard time understanding native speakers.
I spend time reading books.
I have an easy time learning new languages.
2. I wish you feel better soon.
-- "wish" is used with conditionals to talk about something that is unlikely to happen.
-- "hope" is used for things that may or will happen
3. I usually work in the mornings and take my lunch at noon.
-- we use "have" or "eat" lunch
-- we usually don't use an article or possessive adjective before the meal. I eat lunch, not "I eat my lunch"
4. I want to explain to you this interesting rule.
-- English word order = verb + object
-- "explain this interesting rule to you"
