I didn't start reading "on purpose" untill I was 24 years old. But after a few short years I was AMAZED to find that, not only did my vocabulary improve, but it reached other aspects of lessons like word problems in mathematics, something I always struggled with in grammar school. Reading is now one my favorite things to do, and I wish I had started younger.

English beeing my second language, I have always struggled with at on in and by, so thank you for clearing this out for me.
@laurawolfe1545 жыл бұрын
"... clearing this UP..." is more common to use when confusion has been resolved. :) "We cleared UP the misunderstanding during a long conversation over coffee." "We cleared OUT the garage and now have room to park our car in it." "I need to clear UP my thinking if I want to plan for the future." "I need to clear OUT negative thoughts if I want to plan for the future." CLEAR UP is used more when something (usually mental, but not always) had been addressed, dealt with, and improved. CLEAR OUT is related to removal, or disposal of something (usually, but not always, something tangible.) "We cleared out the restaurant during our long conversation to clear up the misunderstanding." Clear Out here means you were there so long that all the other customers came and left, but you were still there.

kung fu everything that you say* sounds better and idk if what you said is correct. I would go a step further and say “I can understand everything you say very clearly”: understanding is a verb showing that you just get the idea and not to any specific extent. Using an adverb can bring your language skills to a new level. It also “you’re” and not “*your* the best teacher” but even native speakers make that mistake, included myself

Generalmente me cuesta aprender cualquier materia por como explican y dan clases los profesores pero el realmente tiene una forma de explicar que es entretenida y quiero seguir escuchando más, no me quedaba muy claro eso del in on at and by y ahora si le entendí poquito más, gran trabajo, se nota que le encanta su profesión.

Just learned that In and On have their own specific usage, I thought back then IN as long as you are in an enclosure, and On is on the surface. So, You normally use IN in Car or Taxi for something small, but for trains, and buses gotta be ON because they're bigger. Great to know. I wanted to say Thank you VERY much but in one of your lessons, I learned to stop using the word very. Thank you much Teacher James.😀
