Une chose…chacun a sa propre manière de parler, la vitesse, le niveau d’articulation, etc. Certains parlent vite, certains lentement. Certains articulent bien, certains mangent les syllabes. Et sur tout, les accents différents. Donc, je recommande que vous trouvez UNE personne qui a une manière de parler que vous aimez et focalisez le shadowing sur cette personne. Si non, on essaie de faire de shadowing avec beaucoup de personnes différentes et ne développez ou maîtrisez pas un style de parler régulier et constant. Même en anglais…on ne peut pas apprendre par shadowing Woody Allen et Snoop Dog en même temps.

La phrase choisie pour montrer la méthode du shadowing est inutile pour la plupart ou tous les élèves français qui n'ont pas l'ambition de devenir acteurs... Je vais essayer de répéter ("shadowing") ce que Marion nous a dit... C'est ABSOLUMENT suffisant... Les phrases qui ne sont que des sons incompréhensibles n'ont de sens que dans les films ou les théâtres... Mon objectif est de communiquer avec des personnes qui ont quelque chose à offrir et qui savent parler, et non avec des personnes qui ont oublié leur propre langue ou qui ne l'ont jamais apprise. Oh yes, you have to see it, to understand it in detail. And this was a sped up version for KZbin. It can take many many repetitions for one to get a phrase or part of a phrase right. But, whatever it takes, right? :)

Bonjour , Alex et tout le monde - ça c'etait fort intéressant, d'autant plus que j'ai écouté ta conversation avec ton ami Kyle il y a deux jours qui nous parlait de sa facon d'apprendre vite et bien le français, notamment comme il répétait/répète toujours après ces locuteurs ce qu'il entendait - sans mentionner le nom 'shadowing'! Mais c'est exactement ça ce qu'il faisait! J'enseigne l'anglais aux adultes débutants et je vais leur reconmmander fort d'utiliser cette methode pour améliorer leur prononciation.... et moi même, je vais l'incorporer (c'est la bonne ecpression?) dans l'avenir dans mon apprentissage italien. Un MERCI avec un majuscule M!

C'etais tellement dificile!! Ca me rapelle bien apprendre un morceau dans le clavier. Il faut repeter les petits elements. Aussi, j'ai fu ca avec le clip celebre de Macron, "est-ce-que vous pensez que ca me fait plaisier de faire cette reforme? Non." Etcetera 😂 Parce que ça me fait sourire!!

Wow!! This was super great!! But difficult to do by oneself without some editing tools…I.e., rewinding, slowing the sound slightly….and….what was VERY helpful: the ability to write the phrases phonetically, showing the rhythm of the pronunciation. Excellent! Thank you!!

I guess I've been doing shadowing without knowing it. I watch my favorite Netflix shows in French and repeat the lines. I already know what it's about and what it means so I can just concentrate on the pronunciation and melody as Marion says. Usually, they're comedies so the sentences are shorter and more fun to say repeatedly.

Wonderful! Yes, I realised I do it without noticing too, but as shown in the video I'm still quite attached to the written form. It takes a lot of work to detach from that. It sounds like you are well placed to make this work for you very quickly. But, take your time :)

It’s difficult because in English I like to speak properly, I wouldn’t say wanna tea? if I had guests, I’d say Would you like some tea? It seems a bit lazy how the French squish things up eg Shay pas, it’s like an abuse of the language they’re proud of. The reason I’m complaining about it, is because it makes it hard for us to understand. 😊
