Read this:- Being myself a student of English Honours, all I will say that speaking depends on how good are you at writing. Speaking is nothing out of this world, it is just telling or using that same language that you used in writing verbally. Don't worry it will gradually improve while communicating to your teachers and of course classmates. First, speak slowly, thinking a bit of what to say, then it will take no time to become fluent. You have to speak at least. Talk on some topics by yourself and record it in your mobile. these will definitely help you. And as English at graduation level is all about literature you must try to analyze different texts by yourself. Remember nothing is easy. Every subject has its own difficulty. So if you have love for English nothing should stop you from pursuing it. Be curious to find new areas in a particular text. Practice writing from the 1st day of 1st semester and never hesitate to ask your teachers. keep in mind that teachers are only there to help you all. Read extensively newspapers, books in and apart from your syllabus. Your grammar should be strong as you will not be taught grammar in classes. and if you have doubt regarding your grammatical skills, go, get a good book and start practicing grammar. @@amishasekh1423Hello sister, It is not necessarily must to speak in english, but it is a really good practice. Good teachers shall never demotivate or scold you if you are not fluent enough, rather they will encourage you. Some teachers even prefer to teach in Bengali. According to me it is not that important at UG level, you can definitely question in Bengali, Techers won't mind. But in further studies it is, no doubt, a must have skill. So don't lose hope, start practicing today, your friends can help you a lot in this. Focus 1st on your writing and speak as much as possible even though it is not always correct.. You'll be amazed to see how soon your speaking skill reaches the sky. Good luck Sister..

একজন অনার্স এর ছাত্র মানে তাকে একটা 15 মার্কস এর কোয়েশ্চন 9-10 পাতা লিখতে হবে সেমেস্টার সিস্টেম এটা প্রথম শুনলাম আর তিন ঘণ্টার ভেতরে যদি 40 পেজ আনসার লিখতে হয় তাহলে একজন স্টুডেন্ট কে কত ব্রিলিয়ান্ট হতে হবে তা ভাবা যায় না ।Calcutta University strictly follow the rules regarding words count like, for 15 marks question you have to write 600 words and 5 pages are enough for this and anyone cannot exceed that deadline ,আমি আমার অনেক বন্ধুদের দেখেছি তারা 60-70 % পেয়েছে কই তাদের তো এক্সামে 40 পাতা লিখতে হয় নি।May be CU curriculums is easier than others University in West bengal 🙂.

English hons নেওয়া মানেই যে ইংরেজি তে ভালো আর অনার্স না নিলে সে খারাপ এটা ভুল ধারনা, কারন English hons is fully based on Literature..এখানে যে যত নোটস মুখস্থ করবে তার তত লাভ আর তাছাড়া ও ইংরেজি অনার্স এ বেসিক টাই তো অনার্স এ নেই, যেটি বিভিন্ন পরীক্ষায় আসে, সাহিত্য থেকে কিন্তু কোন পরীক্ষায় প্রশ্ন আসে না ইংরেজি তে, আমার প্রিয় বিষয় ইংলিশ, ৯২ পেয়েছি উচ্চমাধ্যমিক এ , কিন্তু আমি যেটুকু ইংলিশ জানি তাতে অনার্স টা না নিলেও আমার কোন প্রবলেম হবে না, বোঝানোর জন্য ধন্যবাদ, এটুকু বলতে পারি কোথাও গিয়ে ঠকবো না❤️❤️

ইংলিশ অনার্স শুধু মুখস্থ এর উপরে নির্ভর করে এটা সম্পূর্ণ ভুল ধারণা, কয়েকটা কোয়েশ্চন মুখস্থ করে হয়তো নম্বর পাওয়া যেতে পারে কিন্তু সাবজেক্ট এর উপরে নিজের কোনো দক্ষতা আসে না, অনার্স নেওয়া মানে শুধু ইংলিশ এ কথা বলতে পারা বা ভালো নম্বর পাওয়া হয়, এগুলোর পাশাপাশি যে বিষয়ে অনার্স নেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয় সেই বিষয়ের উপরে নিজের দক্ষতা তৈরি করাটাই ব্যাপার।

Now I am English Honors student. she said, English Honors 5th question answers are 4 pages and 10th marks are 7-8 but it is completely wrong. 2 pages for 5 marks and 4 pages for 10 marks are enough. This is not my opinion this is my teachers suggestion. We all know that writing in English is much less than Bengali. And in my experience with tests, it saves a lot of time if a student starts writing from beginning without thinking about anything else.

এ ভুল বলছে English honours কে জটিল করে তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা আমি BKU থেকে English এ graduation করেছি 5 number এর জন্য দু তিন পাতা লিখতে হবে এমন দিব্যি দেওয়া আছে কি!! যে question এর যতটা পর্যাপ্ত answer ততটা লিখলেই হলো.. এমনিতেই Honours এর এক্সামে হাতের লেখার স্পিড থাকা খুব জরুরী , তাই যত সম্ভব answer গুলো brief করা দরকার নইলে সময়ের মধ্যে complete হবে না!!

For 15 numbers if a student has to write 9 page it means for 90 numbers with six questions, a student will have to write 54 pages. What r you saying , have you any sense. “ইংলিশে কথা বলব” -- দু-তিন মাস আগে এই ধারণাটা আমার কাছে ছিল স্বপ্নের মত। ভাবতাম সব সময় যদি এমন একজন মানুষ পেতাম যেখুবভালো স্পোকেন ইংলিশ শেখাবে তাহলে খুব ভালো হতো। আর এটা ভাবতে-ভাবতে একদিন হঠাৎ মিঠুন স্যারের সাথে যোগাযোগ হল আর উনি আমাদেরকে অজয় স্যার এর খোঁজ দিলেন আর সত্যি বলছি একজন ম্যাজিশিয়ান এর মতন অজয় স্যার যেন আমাদের জীবনে আবির্ভাব হলেন। সত্যি বলছি স্যার আপনার এই সমস্ত শিক্ষা এবং মোটিভেশন আমাদেরকে ইংরেজিতে কথা বলতে আর অনুপ্রাণিত ও উদ্যত করে তুলেছে । আর সেই কারণেই আজ আমি ইংলিশে কথা বলতে পারি । ভাবলে অবাক হতে হয় যে একজন শিশু মায়ের গর্ভে থাকার সময় ছয় মাস বয়স থেকে গর্ভের বাইরের সমস্ত কথা শুনতে শুরু করে । আর বিশেষজ্ঞদের মতে এই সময় থেকেই তার কথা বলার প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয়। আর এটা একটা অবাক করার মত বিষয় যে আমরা মাত্র দুই তিন মাসের মধ্যেই একটি নতুন ভাষা শিখে ফেললাম। আমার মতে প্রত্যেকের একবার অজয় স্যারের এই গ্রুপে যুক্ত হওয়া উচিত কারণ আমি জানি ,আমার দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস এই যে কেউ এখান থেকে কোনো ফল না নিয়ে ফিরবেন না । কারণ একবার এই গ্রুপে যুক্ত হলে অজয় স্যার তাকে ইংলিশে কথা বলিএই ছাড়বেন । স্যারকে তার ওপর কোনো জোর খাটাতে হবে না স্যার এর প্রত্যেকটা কথায় সে এমনি ইংলিসে কথা বলার জন্য উদ্যত হয়ে উঠবে তার মনে হবে এবারে আমাকে পারতেই হবে বলতেই হবে । আমি বলতে পারব । শুধু প্রত্যেকে একবার একটা ছোট্ট উদ্যোগ নিয়ে দেখুন , দুর্দান্ত একটা ফলাফল প্রত্যেকের জন্যই নিশ্চিত।
