hello! thanks for the video! do you have any tips on how to bu succint because it is a problem I do face quite a bit. for planned response it is still generally okay because I get to plan beforehand and I have the pressure of time to keep my sentences short and packed with meaning + impact but for spoken interaction, I find myself going on and on for 5 mins each question (sometimes cluelessly, sometimes because I have too much to say). thank you so much!

Well, having too much to say is better than nothing to say. I think perhaps before you speak, think of your points, do they address the questions? More doesn't equal to an appropriate response. Do your points repeat? Do they value add to your current argument? Will they pose a contradiction to what you say? Usually, a guide is about 3 points. Choose your best 3 points and develop them exceedingly well. Anything more usually doesn't value add to your current stand. Perhaps less is more.

for spoken interaction, can i think in front of the teacher for a few mins before speaking ? I scared my organisation is too messy and may be out of point and have to think about what to say if not when i speak i dont know what to say then i might drag

Yes, you may need to ask for permission first, but you are allowed to think first. I think the key is think, but not at the expense of the examiner's patience. All the best!

Is there assessment book or guide book for the new oral format?

I'm not sure, but you can check the other videos as some of them have extra practices at the end.

I am in sec 2 at SJI, is the syllabus the same as the one covered in this video?
@MrGohBR Жыл бұрын
Well you can check with your teacher if you are taking Syllabus 1184. If yes, this is the correct one. The skills are similar regardless of syllabus though. =)

Cher how to score well for content I’m not talking about the organisation but the stand itself like the opinion. My Cher say must be global. Is it true? Or anything can? Cuz it is very hard to think about global aspects on the spot
@MrGohBR Жыл бұрын
Interesting question. The mark of a distinction or A is to be distinct. Using a global opinion isn't wrong but only if you can think of one. If everyone uses a global perspective, would it be distinct then? You can consider watching the below video for inspiration on other ways to expand. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJ26iZd7gLica7s

Yes, you can. Do let the teacher know that you need a few moments and you're good to go.
