Isn't there a little difference? Sutil's car stood right after the last corner, right (I actually mist the scene.. fall asleep, didn't sleep the night before)? You can look into the Motodrom and see if someone is coming, you have like 20 seconds to run away if someone comes. I remember Valencia 2012 (I think it was 2012) were Vettel stopped his car like right after the end of a Saftey Car-Phase, on Position 1. And while the rest of the cars were overtaking the Marshall's had to move Vettel's car away. That was dangerous as hell.

kimi20F1c There was a similar incident in 2008, when Glock crashed exiting the last turn. The SC was deployed then, not because of debris but because the Toyota of Glock stopped in a dangerous place. Sutil's car was stopped in the middle of the start/finish straight on Sunday, and a lot of the commentators were expecting the SC to be deployed then. Very unsafe and even worse to send out marshals to recover the car, irrespective of the yellow flags.

Matt Leary That was NOT similar. The Saftety Car came because of lots and lots of debris Glock covered the track with. Additionally, he crashed in a beton wall and was slightly injured. Sutil did no such thing.
