About the fork and the clock - Yorkshire accent can be tricky. The lenght is important (lol, not the lenght of the fork). And about the success - the very important is the accent (2nd syllabe)

The Yorkshire accent doesn't change "fork" and "clock" much from RP. I know because I am from Yorkshire.

As I don't know the bad word mispronounced for can't, I'd say the worst can be Coke, like the story you mentioned. Great lesson. One word I have to be careful when I say it is "beach", it's really a tricky one.
