Hi all!
I am in full swing on this Tula Pink English Paper Piecing project called "Tula's Bloomers." A few videos ago I was freaking out about how intimidated I was and so I just wanted to come on and not only show you how I'm no longer intimidated, but having so MUCH FUN!
So, I give a quick demo as to how to sew the pieces together and give you a few tips on how not to get wrist fatigue.
Thanks for watching! Hope you'll give this type of "slow stitching" a try!

Susanna, hello!!! I'd never done EPP really, except a few hexies here and there. It was just intimidating looking. Turns out you just need the right supplies, and as you say, time. I hope you are doing well and having a nice spring. Take care, lovely! xoxo

Perfect timing Lauretta! I literally have my little wool mat and my hexi papers and fabric ready to begin glueing. I have the Sewline glue stick as well to use. This will be my first ever EPP. Doing a Grandmother’s Flower Garden flower to use on a zipper pouch. Glad I have the right glue stick. I have a small mat from Omnigrid that opens up and has cutting on one side and pressing on the other. It folds up and has a closure on it. It’s a great size to even cut shapes out while watching tv. Check them out, you may need one as well. It’s 8X11 in size. Your blocks are looking so pretty. Great fabric choices. 💕🧵☀️

I have punched holes in the middle of all the templates. When you go to remove them you just take a crochet hook and put through the hole and remove. Purchased the kit and doing in civil war material. You have again sent me down a rabbit hole!

Lol. Sorry!!! But, I hope you have a ton of fun. That punched hole thing is a neat idea. I've seen the holes punched out of paper inserts before but wasn't sure how they were used. Thanks for sharing! That's a nifty idea. Take care. xo

@@sparrowhawkerdesigns so the paper comes right out from underneath the special glue? I watched one lady who punched a hole in the center of the piece of paper to help her get the paper out. Thought that was a good idea.
@sparrowhawkerdesigns
@sparrowhawkerdesigns 2 жыл бұрын
@@suzieq23ify yes. You just lift up an edge, stick your fingernail in there and pull. It comes right out, just like I did in the video. And yes, some people poke holes in the middle of the paper. That works, too! I just don't want to be bothered with poking holes in all those pieces since there are already several steps involved in the whole process. But whatever makes you comfortable is what you should do! I Hope you give it a try!! Thanks for watching. Xo

Beautiful fabrics/colors! I have several Grandmother’s Flower Garden blocks done but have hit a road block in getting them all pieced together. I will be anxious to hear of any tips you will have for that down the road. Are you familiar with Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses? EPP and fussy cutting making gorgeous blocks. TFS!

Hi, I never do English paper piecing before. Could you show how to cut the paper and fabric out of the template for this pattern? I just ordered the template but I don't know what to do next. Thanks
@sparrowhawkerdesigns
@sparrowhawkerdesigns Жыл бұрын
All of my papers for this pattern are already used and I don't have any left over to do a tutorial. But I did make a tutorial on how to cut the fabric and wrap it around the paper using a different pattern. (I don't cut the paper, I order it precut or my daughter cuts it for me on her Cricut.) Here's the link to the video I just made. I hope this helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqGZenenq7d2mJI

Very pretty. What does it mean if you can see the stitches?
@sparrowhawkerdesigns
@sparrowhawkerdesigns 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Darlene. Ideally, you're not supposed to be able to see the stitches that hold the two pieces together when you do English Paper Piecing. So, that's the goal of EPPers. Basically it means that I'm either taking too big of stitches or at the wrong angle or using a thread that doesn't match etc. Thank you for your question and for watching! Take care. xo

Can you till me what size the papers are for this Patton love your work thank you hope to hear soon
@sparrowhawkerdesigns
@sparrowhawkerdesigns 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Shirl. I think they are 1 inch hexies and 2 inch hexies, 1 inch jewel and 2 inch 60 degree diamonds. I'm not sure if you're familiar with EPP, but the sizes are measured from one point to the other on the side, rather than across the piece. I did not buy these separately, but bought it all in a kit and then also bought the templates. Here's the link to the paper kit: www.amazon.com/Paper-Pieces-TULABLOOM-Bloomers-Complete/dp/B078KCKM6H/ref=sr_1_1?crid=14K61GKC4FH7Y&keywords=Tula%2BPink%2BTula%27s%2BBloomers%2Bpaper%2Bpack&qid=1659289671&sprefix=tula%2Bpink%2Btula%27s%2Bbloomers%2Bpaper%2Bpack%2Caps%2C69&sr=8-1&th=1 Hope that helped! xo
