Nice video. Why not make one comparing the long and short vowels in English? For example: Hat - hate Set - seat Kit - kite Cop - cope Tub - tube Since the 'long' form of vowels is the same as we call them in the alphabet. It's just the short forms, which don't have much to do with the 'long' forms, which need to be memorised.

One thing I never noticed before is that if you take three letter words and the -it postfix for most letters of the alphabet it forms an 'it' word: bit, fit, git, hit, kit, lit, mit, nit, pit, q(u)it, rit, sit, tit, wit, zit

Hello! I have always a doubt when I am reading a word with the vowel i. When am I supposed to pronounce "i" or "ai". For example: live and life. Thank you. By the way, I love your lessons!!!

hahahaahah 9 years and theres no answer damit
@TonyNes644 ай бұрын
It's pretty arbitrary, but the pronunciation depends on whether the syllable finishes by a consonant (then it's "i") or by a vowel (then it's "ai")

we learned this in the primary school, (i) like (eye) and (e) like (eee), but 90 percent we don't pronounce it like the definition, but (i is pronounced like strong E) and (e pronounced like AE) how can we determine which one to write? still not clear to me :( , there are countless cases where it is not clear which one to use like, RECEIVE (ruh seev) is there any rule to use the right (E) when writing new or shallow memorized words? thanks

I like the part when she said (e) pronounces as m(ee)t & ect.. However if we take meet and make it met its not pronounced the same. Just like I said same and pronounced the (e) at the end without 2 (ee)... so my question is, If we are using 1 (e) the how will we pronounce it?
