We use it to explain the way in which something happens, or the means to making it happen. For example, by driving my car, I can get to work faster. = She can only learn English by taking classes. Both of these sentences can't work without the by connecting the two parts. Each half of the sentence relies on the other to make sense. I am English native!

What is the difference between assume, supose and guess?

Assume is when you make a guess based on your prior knowledge or experience, or something you can see (for example you can assume someone's personality from how they dress. Suppose and guess are basically the same thing. Although guess in many contexts can mean you don't really have any info so you have to assume without any prior experience or knowledge.
