As a native Brit I give this a 100% thumbs up. I would also add that in the North of England people address each other as 'love' or 'luv'. This is used to strangers when being friendly as well as amongst people who know each other. Women say it to men, other women and children. Men say it to women and children. But men don't usually say it to other men. In the north east of England where I come from a similar word, used in the same way is 'pet'.

Thank you for sharing this ...some I knew like mate , brew, innit.etc. but some I didn't like " bloke, skint,minging " these are not taught and despite one knowing English reasonably well , words like these can make one feel " always deficient "

I never realised how lucky I am that BBC One airs in my country as wel. Learned a lot of slang watching British programmes. A very welcome addition to learning English through video games and films

Thanks a lot for teaching British slang words, being a British. I think it's easy to learn English language from a British but tough to learn the different words, accent, slang from an Indian who knows British English.

Cheeky and mate are used in america, but not as often as the alternative, bro or dude. And now sus could mean cheeky, depending on the context.

You can refer to a man as a fella (I spoke to that fella) but you wouldn't address somebody as 'fella' (thanks, fella). That sounds a bit rude.

The key words here are 'the' and 'a'. To take 'THE' piss/pee is 'to ridicule'. To take/have 'A' piss/pee is 'to urinate'.
