The space between the seats and the roof is very much needed in Poland. It's not meant to cool people down, but to provide airflow. The atmosphere in Polish stadiums is a bit different than in England. Pyro is an inseparable part of "creating an atmosphere in the stands" in Ekstraklasa. The air flow makes it easier to clean the smoke from the stadium. So thats why... Hope I explained it understandably :)
@RobReacts1 Жыл бұрын
If that is the reason then that makes sense

@@RobReacts1 StuntPegg showed it in one of her videos when the stadium was all in smoke. I think this video will help you understand it

I've always had an impression, that they make it this way so it's on the same level as the roof in the main stand, which (I'm guessing) makes it easier from designing and constructing perspective, and is perhaps cheaper as a result. It looks really bad in my opinion though.
@CARRAGER_ Жыл бұрын
@@impliedfacepalm8769 without the free flow of air, the stadium looks like a field full of fog. For us Poles, pyro is very important. We even say "new stadiums, but old rules" and I love that tbh. Often people come for the atmosphere, not to watch football.

The Polish Premier League always has a few 'exotic' teams from small cities. You won't build 30k stadium in 10k people city. Also, almost always a City is an owner. So, nobody wants to pay for a new stadium from their taxes. There are more important things than football ;)

The catch with the Radom stadium in 15:00 is that Radomiak no longer play on it...! MOSiR (Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji = Municipal Centre for Sports and Recreation, so it's actually a branch of the local govt) lent the stadium to Radomiak while their own stadium was being rebuilt, with the first home game on the reconstructed one barely five weeks ago, on August 5th! So for a video uploaded on the 19th it's a notch out of date. Radomiak's home stadium (Stadion im. Braci Czachorów) is still somewhat under construction, in that it's missing the guest team supporter stands. The final version would bring it up to 15k seats (currently it's at 8840).
@keszy12 Жыл бұрын
That „im.” which was in the some names of the stadiums stands for „imienia” which says that is named by a name of historical figure like in the Radom (14:12)case which in translation in English would sound like „Marshall Józef Piłsudski’s Athletic and Football stadium”

Cracovia's stadium looks like that for a reason. Basically, it was due to the fact it could not obstruct the view from Krakow's park in the very city centre (Błonia) at the Wawel castle, an ancient one where loads of kings are buried. That's why the stands vary in size. Agreed though in terms of capacity, it's lower Championship or upper League One.

Fun fact about Stadion Śląski. It's not actually the stadium of Ruch Chorzów. They will play on it (in the future), but their stadium is in a different place, built in 1930s. It was in a bad condition due to which they cannot play on their own stadium. Actually speaking, as of now Ruch is playing on the stadium of Piast Gliwice which can also be seen on the video (Stadion Miejski w Gliwicach) as Gliwice/Piast were nice enough to share it with Ruch while their own stadium is not allowed for the league. The only reason they will play on Stadion Śląski is politics. Our elections are coming, so politicians are racing to get votes. That's one of the major reasons Ruch's deal with Stadion Śląski went through (last season Ruch wanted to play a single match there with another friendly team, and they were not allowed). There are plans for building a new stadium for Ruch, but we will see how much of the plans are just election crap and how much will actually happen.

Hey Rob! Funny thing is the sexiest arenas built for Euro 2012 are a little bit too big for teams who play there. Yeah, Gdańsk and Wrocław are big cities, but the teams arent. They had patches of success but last year Śląsk Wrocław fough to stay up and Lechia was actually relegated. It's a puzzling experience when you see those arenas and 10k people inside. They could have been two biggest stadiums in second tier this season. Other thing you commented on is bland architecture. I think it's on purpose, to save money. I think that 99% of those stadia is owned by city. So there is always big battle when city wants to allocate money to build/renovate stadium.

@@RobReacts1 Robert, you don't necessarily know. Note that Polish stadiums have only been developing for a decade for obvious reasons and all of them are modern despite the number of seats. In the UK, some Premier League stadiums have not seen renovation for 20-30 years, in lower leagues even longer. Looking at your reaction, you judge stadiums by size and number of seats, not by modernity, implementation, etc. In my opinion, new stadiums in England, e.g. Tottenham, are light years from ours, although I believe that at least half of the stadiums in the Polish league are more usable and more modern from most Premier League stadiums (I say this as an Arsenal fan)

Hi Rob. It was interesting. About airing after pyrotechnics was already in other comments. The lack of Henryk Reyman Stadium in Kraków (it has a lot of imperfections, but there is no better place to play football on this planet😊) I can't forgive you😇 Watch the video about the stadium in Gliwice again and compare it with the video about the stadium in the German city of Paderborn - the comparison will surprise you a bit, it is an almost exact copy of the Benteler-Arena where SC Paderborn 07 plays its matches. And finally the stadium in Lubin - colors carrot and black are not accidental and are not intended to refer to the cultivation of carrots in this region, Lubin is one of the centers of the copper industry in Poland and one of the largest copper mining centers in the world. So the stadium has the copper color typical of the club and the region. The name of the club from Lubin "Zagłębie" means "industrial district/basin". It's a pity that you didn't show photos from the matches in your video - the match frames are impressive and the atmosphere is very lively football, in Poland we still adhere to the rules of hot cheering throughout the match, fans cheer their teams all the time, these are not audiences like in a theater that we can be observed at the largest, most beautiful and most modern stadiums of leagues widely recognized as the best in Europe. Nice video, watched with interest. I greet you from Kraków. Cheers, brother!👍⚽⚽⚽🍺🍺🍺

No i fajnie, Jagiellonia do Premier League :D Wiem, było ostatnio zamieszanie z grą na nim, ale ten stadion jest naprawdę super. Znam od strony stadionowej i sal konferencyjnych, jest konkret.

The name of the stadium in Wroclaw ("Olympic") is somewhat a remnant of the Nazi propaganda from 1936, when the games were held mainly in Berlin. Wrocław's stadium (the city was then called Breslau) hosted yes, but not athletes, only propaganda events, it seems that even the Fuhrer himself appeared there. As for Lukas Podolski, yes - he still plays football in Górnik Zabrze. Irregular, but playing. He even seems to help the club financially. All because he was born in Zabrze and left there with his parents (who emigrated to Germany) at the age of two. But he felt connected with the city and the region, he has family there with whom he maintains constant contact, his wife is a Pole from Silesia. Podolski has long said that he intends to return and end his career in Górnik Zabrze. And that's exactly what it does :)

You have to understand Poles. In our country, stadiums are built in such a way that the stands are mostly filled. What's the point of having a beautiful stadium in Wrocław if very few fans attend the matches? In Poland, stadiums are built according to the number of fans who can be there and based on the costs of maintaining the buildings.

Ekstraklasa stadiums, and attendace are like English League 1, with 2-3 clubs on Championship level.
