Unionists only took 6 counties because if they took 9 they’d be eventually be outnumbered by Catholic Republicans (as they do now). Nothing to do with Englishmen but Ulstermen betrayed Ulster.

@@sircoloniser5454 It's what Northern Unionists wanted. Enough to have an overall majority and a small Irish Catholic minority. Most weren't driven out of their homes in the Free State, they left for Britain, the North, or went to war.
